Abridged, and badly at that
Love Ludlum, but hate abridged - didn’t realize that was what I was getting. Even getting it on sale, it was a ripoff.
The story is dated, which I don’t mind. (In the 1970s, “black” was beautiful, not a racial slur..) American protagonist, nebulous bad guys, British intelligence, and Jamaican politics. Danger, mystery, and intrigue. Should be fun but it’s impossible to follow and undeveloped characters make it hard to care.
I have no problems with the narrator. None of this is his fault.
