Acerca de esta escucha

After a miraculous escape from death, Brother Haluin wishes to confess that he was responible for the death of the girl he loved and the baby she was to bear, 18 years previously. Brother Cadfael accompanies a crippled young monk on his journey of penance - a path that leads them into a web of old jealousy and deceit. The mission to beg forgiveness also brings death, and Brother Cadfael investigates.©1988 Ellis Peters (P)1996 Recorded Books, LLC Detectives Tradicionales Histórico Misterio Thriller y Suspenso

The Brother Cadfael books are all good reads, but this is particularly enjoyable. There is less emphasis on medieval forensics, and more on relationships, although all Ellis Peters’ books look into the human heart. The gentle ending is poignant and satisfying. The narration by Patrick Tull is superb.

Beautifully crafted story of sacrifice and forgiveness

Prefer Stephen Thorne as narrator. Great story. Ellis Peters is an excellent storyteller. And if course Cadfael ❤️

Great story as ever

Brother Cadfael sets out on a journey of atonement with another brother who is in search of absolution. Along the way, dark secrets of the past are uncovered, and Cadfael must work to set everything right in the end. I enjoyed this one. We get to meet new characters and get away from the Abbey for a while. Patrick Tull, as always, does an incredible job telling the tale.

Road Trip!

Best. Narrator. Ever.
The story this time around was terribly predictable, but I could listen to this man read the phone book. I love Cadfael.

Not Ellis Peters' usual high standard
