well researched scholarly work

This is an excellent book, but the narrator stinks. I can't think of another way to say it. He mispronounces all but the easiest names, mispronounces English words! He can't begin to handle names such as Artaxerxes. I hate to give such a bad review, but it's true. I gave the book a four because the book is just so good.

Great understanding of Daniel

Narrator butchers names and makes it difficult to follow players in Daniel’s prophecy. Narrator should have verified pronunciations

Idiot narrator

This classic book should have been narrated by someone who took the time to learn how to pronounce the words of Scripture and history in the proper manner. Either that or try a monkey...... The results might be more accurate.

Terrible narrator, great story

The narrator was obviously not familiar with the Bible, as so many locations and names were mispronounced that it made it difficult to understand and get into flow of the book

The Coming Prince By Sir Robert Anderson is a great book. This Performance by Narrater Vince Whittaker will no doubt will rune the work for some listeners. If it helps increase the speed to like 1.1-1.25, it helped me.

The books substance is great, the narration isn’t.

I haven’t even made it through the introduction, and I’ve already lost count how many times this narrator has pronounced words wrong. I understand people make mistakes, but when you are reading a Christian-based book, and you have no idea how to pronounce Ephesians, and epistle, there is a problem.

It’s almost like he picked the book up and just started reading it the whole way through in one sitting, There was definitely no thought like, “hmm, I’m not 100% sure how to pronounce this word. maybe I should stop and look it up”.

However he thinks the word is pronounced that’s what he goes with. It really throws you off while listening to it because you have to hurry up and thank of the correct word he’s trying to say, while at the same time, trying to keep up with the thoughts of the author.

Poor narration

This is like listening to nails on a chalkboard. So sad since the content is great. I couldn’t take any more after chapter 5. Going to just read the book. The narrator mispronounced many of the names such that it was tough to know who he is talking about. Save your money/credits!

The narrator leaves much to be desired

I bought this recording because I don't have time to read the book myself. The narrator is my main gripe. He apparently has no background in the Bible or Bible study. This is clear by the way he massacres names whose pronunciation he would have otherwise known. While I am able to determine most of them, some caused me to pause and rewind to try to figure out what he was saying. With names such as Nebuchadnezzar and Xerxses, the narrator apparently also slept through world history. Pitiful!

Very compelling book

Any Christian wanting to have a deeper understanding of their faith should read this book.
