Julian Symons' murder mysteries should come with public warning notices that his books can cause bouts of depression in especially sensitive/ "immuno compromised" readers, making one wonder what's the point of living among such horrific humans such as ourselves. Reminded me of Dostoyevsky's "Crime and Punishment", "Brothers Karamazov" and "Humiliated and Insulted". Good read for the soul and mind, though..
