Acerca de esta escucha

This sequel to the best-selling Booked to Die combines masterful suspense, bullets, and booklore in one of the best contemporary whodunits on offer.

When rare book collector Cliff Janeway is offered a lucrative bondsman job, he can't refuse, especially since the bail jumper might have a priceless copy of The Raven. This is a must listen for mystery buffs and especially those who love booklore.

Too long and drawn out. Lost interest about halfway through. I felt that the characters were not believable and neither was the story line.

This was the second Cliff Janeway novel and far and away the best of the series. In the 90s when this came out Poe had become quite trendy and a subject matter for quite a few mysteries. This is by far the best treatment for that time period. ENJOY!

Excellent Story Performed Flawlessly.

John Dunning is a very good writer. I enjoyed all the of the Bookman series so far. This last installment is not as grabbing as the other 2 though. It has a nice story line and plot, but the characters aren't as believeable. I di enjoy reading the book though.

Maybe a little less

This was a great story from start to finish. I learned a lot about books and never knew who the killer was until the climax.

Great Story

Dunning's Bookman series is smart and well paced with lots of clever zinger lines, but what makes this series stand out is how each story is propelled by the obsessive fascination and craving for books--particular books, particular authors, particular years, particular perfect dust jackets, particular you-name-it---all the holy grails that make collectors, buyers, and sellers obsessive and sometimes murderous pursuers of completion and perfection. If you like a good, smart mystery you'll enjoy this very well narrated book; if you're a book lover you'll love it.

Intricate, fast paced, and smart

I have read two of them now and love the plot lines, the language and George's narration.
I have reach a point where I no longer think I am listening to Mitch Rapp!

Loving this series

The reader is excellent, storyline compelling, enjoyed the interesting information about rare books and the way they are made.

If I were a book collector, the details of this book would have kept me enthralled (I think). But I am not a book collector, and the details began to lose me and my attention. The book started strong, and I felt exhilarated to be listening to George Guidall reading what seemed like a very exciting book. But after a while, the excitement diminished, the plot got sidelined to make room for many details about book printing and book collection, and I started to not worry about what had happened to one of the characters who went missing. The ending was drawn out for hours, and I was not satisfied.
It's hard to not like a book that George Guidall narrates, but I just didn't enjoy this book very much.

Loved the 1st book, this one isn't quite as good but a great read. George Guidall is always a pleaser to listen to.

Sequel is good.
