Resumen del Editor

The Book of Fate: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!*

Brad Meltzer's number-one New York Times best seller featuring a 200-year-old code devised by Thomas Jefferson and a present-day conspiracy at the highest level of power.

"Six minutes from now, one of us would be dead. None of us knew it was coming."

So says Wes Holloway, a young presidential aide, about the day he put Ron Boyle, the chief executive's oldest friend, into the president's limousine. By the trip's end, a crazed assassin would permanently disfigure Wes and kill Boyle. Now, eight years later, Boyle has been spotted alive. Trying to figure out what really happened takes Wes back into disturbing secrets buried in Freemason history, a decade-old presidential crossword puzzle, and a 200-year-old code invented by Thomas Jefferson that conceals secrets worth dying for.

*Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Good story and narration

Good story overall. Loved the background music. Narration was very well done. A few parts of the book got to be a little slow, but overall a good book with an engaging plot line

The President’s men are compromised

Brad Meltzer has written another great mystery. This time he uses Freemasons as a basis for the beginning of the book. He also goes into history and uses a code developed by Thomas Jefferson.

The story is about Wes Holloway, a young presidential aide whose face was disfigured his face in an assassination attempt. The book details the story of the president’s time after he lost the election for a second term. Wes tried to find out why the attempt was made.

Exciting book. I am always surprised how Mr. Meltzer can come up with fresh ideas for his books. Love his writing and his TV shows. Don’t miss “The Book of Fate”.

Music

Did not like the music. Narrator was excited enough. Detracted from story. Really like Scott

Background noise too annoying

Plot pretty good. Characters OK. Narration OK. It's a little long. What ticks me off is background noise/music. Takes away from my ability to focus on the book. Downright irritating. Authors, pls don't do this to your listening readers. 😾

Very good, but one nitpick.

I listened to this is 2022. It was very good. I just have one nitpick that is completely irrelevant and i blame the editor for not catching it. The books starts out with Brad bragging about how much research he does to make sure his stories are accurate. And then, he says something that makes no sense and it bothered me. He referred to someone screaming in perfect cminor. Huh? Then he repeated it. And then, he sort of repeated it again, bit he forgot he said c minor and said a minor.

The problem? C minor implies harmony. You scream monophonically. You can scream a c or an a, but unless you are screaming scales, there is no such thing as a c minor note.

Rant over.

Good story

Main character way to melodramatic, if not whiny and no spine akin to that anyone would possess who had tragic scars. Other characters were great.
