Overall, the story was just so slow. It’s a one time read and nothing really stands out.

Tearjerker

Was more than I expected! Better than the first book. Narrators were great and storyline kept my attention. Would recommend

Better

This is better than the first book in every way. The story is more relatable and less of a fantasy dream. The narration was believable by both. I like the female narrator’s version of Dax more than the male’s voice. Her Dax is deliberate and smokey and slow. The spice is mild. Love Starry! Hope there’s another book soon. I’m thinking Silas might be next.

Worth the Wait

The payoff was worth waiting for. Honestly, I didn’t expect a turn in this book that would truly catch me off guard - so when it happened, it was a fun surprise! In the end, the depth of the story won me over, and everything wrapped up with a neat, tidy little bow.

That said (and maybe it’s just me), there were moments that felt a bit sluggish or slightly disjointed. I could see what the author was trying to set up, but a few sections could have been tightened and moved along faster. At one point I caught myself thinking, please, just drive this plot forward. A couple of small details also felt like they came out of nowhere without much purpose, but those moments were few and far between.

Overall, I stayed engaged, and once everything came together, I was glad I stuck with it. The narrators were excellent — distinct voices, great delivery, and nothing distracting about the performance.

Tying in Liv

Im not really into office love stories but i thought i would give it a try. I loved the tie into livs life and seeing abby again. Although i always pictured her fiestier.
