A fantastic followup to the first book
The Band of Starlit Waters is the book that starts to bring it all together. I loved the first book as it brought out and defined the relationships helped you learn what makes all the characters tick in this fantastic sci-fi universe. Now in book 2 we already have an amazing understanding of the characters and their stories. And I just got sucked into the story. I can't wait for book 3 to see where we go next.
I love the narrator for these books. The different characters that he narrates really brings the story to life and is a joy to listen to.

Lots of distance traveled but ...
regrettably, not much forward movement in the plot. It made for a worthy long road trip listening experience but at the end, I was ambivalent as to whether I wanted to continue with the series.
Lyle Blaker's performance was very well done.

Dynamic story with interesting characters
I love this story! The narrator is amazing! I find myself loving the characters more and more with each book. The author delivers just the right amount of suspense that leaves me NEEDING the third book.

Flawless blend of sci-fi and fantasy
I love how the author uniquely blends sci-fi, fantasy, and action. The pace of the story is fast and the characters have personality. I didn't want it to end!

Poorly developed characters and cliffhanger ending
I tried many times over several days to listen to this book but could not get past the cardboard characters and the lack of an engaging story. When I learned that the book ended on cliffhangers, and the author intended to write 6 books in this series, I stopped attempting to listen to it.
