Resumen del Editor

Would you like to have better solutions to your problems? Struggling to understand why things went wrong when you did everything right? The Art of Thinking in Systems can help you with these problems. You think systems thinking is for politicians, and powerful CEO's? Let me tell you this: a small business is a system, your class at school is a system, your family is a system. You are the element of larger systems - your town, your country, the world. These systems have a different dynamic. The more you know about their nature, the more optimal solutions you'll find to problems related to them.

The Art of Thinking in Systems presents the fundamental system models and methods with an application to real life. Know how to use systems thinking at work, in your business, in your relationship, friendships. Some things in life can't be fixed with a simple "you did this so I did that" thinking. By applying conventional thinking to complex problems, we often perpetuate the very problems we try so hard to solve.

The book also helps you to see through the hidden pathways of contemporary politics, economics, and education changes. Systems thinking helps you see beyond simple connections, and find strategic solutions considering every actor influencing your problem. Systems thinking opens new and exciting ways to re-invigorate your world view. It enriches your critical thinking skill, analyzing ability, clears your vision, makes you more logical and rational.

  • Think different and get better results.
  • Learn the main elements of systems thinking.
  • How to apply the best systems thinking ideas, models, and frameworks in your life.
  • What are the biggest system errors, how to detect and fix them?
  • How to improve your romantic relationship with systems thinking? Improve your social life by understanding the systemic aspects of social networks.
  • How to fix financial problems in your business and personal life.

This book is my door to Systems Thinking

This book introduced me to the world of systems thinking and encouraged me to explore the field further. I keep returning to the audio book to fine-tune my basics, and, each time, I learn something new or see things clearer. It has my highest recommendation.

Succinct, yet comprehensive

This book is well written, in a succinct fashion. Yet it is comprehensive in dealing with the literature and theory of Systems Thinking. Ample examples are provided, including many from the author's experience. Fantastic narration as well.

A Good Start

This book is short, preliminary, and general, which is fine. You're going to have to do a bit of googling if you're looking for more in-depth examples of systems thinking in relation to diagramming.

Understandably, but unfortunately, the reader confuses "casual" and "causal". A small thing, I know, but it makes a big difference. For the record, it's Causal Flow Diagrams, not Casual Flow Diagrams.

Nice Point of View on Systems and Personal Life

Purchased this book thinking it would be more about the business or professional world. Surprisingly, it is just what the subtitle says, "everyday life." Not sure it is actually strategic planning. It is more about thinking in terms of systems and how things are connected. The touch into personal life was a good touch.

Pobody is nerfect...

... but we can improve. This book is awesome in that it breaks down elements into perfect categories that are easy to understand and use. Most of it is stuff I’m sure most of us has heard before however Mr. Schuster does an excellent job connecting the dots as to why these reasonings work. I definitely recommend this book especially for entrepreneurs...

Omit Needless Words

Omit Needless Words.
Omit Needless Words.
Omit Needless Words.

This book would have made a great half-hour book. There is way too much repetition of each sentence. For example the second sentence says the same as the first. The third sentence says nearly the same things as the one before, and the final sentence repeats those ideas as though you’ve never heard them before. Far to much repetition to be enjoyable.
