It's a generation of children who never laugh out loud, and who have learned to cry softly because the dead are always near and the dead are always so very, very hungry.

An amazing ending to an amazing journey.
Hard ending with a bitter sweet sorrow to a journey that begun 9 books ago and culminates indeed to the sacrifice(s) the title promises.
An amazing book as expected by Peter Meredith and a recommended series to read or listen. A very good execution by Basil Sands as has been the whole series so far. Hope to see this collaboration between author and narrator continue to the next books.

Ugh! Wow!
Okay, first off the series has been great. Basil does a great job making each character come to life. Very impressed. Story line is good and realistic (as much as can be anyways). You really form an attachment to characters. 2nd..... is this the last book?!?!?! I mean I’m devastated right now! I do not want this to be the end. I want 2 people to somehow magically be at the island! I want to know if jillybean gets better!! Do you understand how much my heart breaks for her??? I get the losses are realistic, what would have likely happened had this been a real story, however..... how could you!?!? You can’t do that! But, it’s got to be a good book if you’ve been able to bring out REAL emotions in me...

Loved the story, narration kept messing up words
first book of the series I didn't give 5 stars to because of all the errors it narration. Wrong names, places and other just weird stuff was peppered all thought out this book. Very to distracting when following along with text, and confusing when listening and *Neil does something to Neil. Oops.

Captain Gray Sir, Mr. Neil , Sadie, Deanna, Emily and even Ipes just to name a few become a loved part of your family as you move through their rollercoaster journey. Each win, close call, daring escape, brilliant explosions, and painful loss is felt as if it was your own; so when they finally find their tattered happy ending you can't help but feel in your heart and through your tears as they cascade down your cheeks.

this was a great story and a great series
I would recommend this to anyone who likes a zombie story I loved every book in the series although if this is the last I felt a little cheated at the end but overall was still great there could be another but with the ending of this book there truly is no need

God Freaking DANGIT
I aint gonna lie. i thought book 9 ripped my heart out. BOY was I wrong! because book 10 just ripped the few remaining pieces i had out, stomped on them, put them in a blender, then formed the mush into a vague shape of a heart.
