Resumen del Editor

A dog who gets hold of the wrong end of the stick; a horse who beats the odds; a wasp who discovers a sting in the tail. This is the stuff of The Animal Parables. Each tale features an animal who finds that things turn out to be quite different from how it imagined and profound life lessons are learned along the way. These seven, life affirming, tales will delight young minds and leave adults moved to reflection.

In this collection Martin Day has re-discovered the power of the parable to layer deeper meanings under the skin of a simple narrative. In doing so he has created a collection of stories that sound at multiple levels. It’s like the delight of finding that second tray under the first in a box of chocolates!

A real heart warmer😂

I absolutely adore this book. What can I say, there is nothing negative about it. When I listened to the audio sample an read the summary, I was intrigued. Martins narration was brilliant, I’m glad he chose to narrate it him self as he brings a certain touch to it that I’m sure no one else could match. He is well spoken and his British accent is smooth as silk. I absolutely loved every story, but my 2 faves were the tail about the dog who got the wrong end of the stick, and the horse who run its own race. If you are a child, adult, or just young at heart then this book is for you. Please give it a listen today, I’m sure you woent be disappointed😎

Great stories with a soothing voice

First, I’ll say, I loved these stories, and I feel they are a great way to engage young people with life lessons taught through the use of animal stories. It’s interesting how this author was able to apply the lessons we would typically encounter as adults to animals. I listened twice to absorb as much as I could. I was gifted an audio book to review and that’s where I was disappointed. While I loved both the stories and the author’s soothing voice, my young grandchildren (ages 8 and 11), the intended targets, were not interested in listening. Both found the voice (sorry Martin) boring. I think a livelier voice would most definitely have attracted them to the stories. For adults, I would highly recommend this audio book. It really brings back the lessons we’ve learned but may have forgotten along the way. For the grade school children, I would recommend the printed or ebook version.
