Lorraine Heath's Western Novels

Enjoyed the listen and the story was warm and heart-tugging for me. I thought both characters, Ameilia and Houston were a bit naive with their assertions of love and what it really meant to both of them. Houston wanted to beat his cowardice but couldn't overcome it where Ameila was concerned because he could never admit that he loved her. It had to take her life being threatened before he could say the words.

I was a bit peeved at Ameilia. One minute she confesses her love to Houston, the other she goes off and marries his brother Dallas. Granted she was betrothed to him, she could have drawn the line and would have gone as far as to sleep with him and tolerate it knowing her heart belonged to Houston. Houston also...wait until she is with child or has the child..SMH.

In any case the narration was very nice, the story written well and I did enjoy it enough to give it 4-Stars. My only drawback is that it could have ended sooner rather than dragging out they way that it did.

Much more of a romance story. Very little “sexy stuff”. I enjoyed the story and characters.

Thoroughly enjoyed!

I was almost deterred from listening to this book by one of the reviews, but I’m glad I decided to judge for myself. I’ve always liked Lorraine Heath and was intrigued by the Texas trilogy angle and the story line. I was not disappointed. This book captivated me from beginning to end. Unlike the other reviewer, who I must respectfully disagree with, I totally understood the characters motivations and decisions based on the masterful way Ms. Heath builds the story and the characters. I wholeheartedly recommend this book and am eager to listen to the next in the series!

A sweet almost clean romance with lots of buildup. Great narration as well. Left me wanting to continue the series immediately.

Exceptional!

I loved this book from start to finish. Eva Kaminsky is wonderful! I never grew tired or annoyed with her voice. This was such a sweet story.

Wonderful Love Story

There does need to be a trigger warning for sexual assault. It's less than a paragraph but it's still enough to bring up old traumas.

The rest of the story is very well written and wonderfully narrated.

I read and listen. listen when in the car then catch back up in the book at home welllll this one was too good I couldn't put it down and pretty much wasted a credit in audible lol

Forbidden love is my weakness

I really enjoyed this book. I usually read books with a little more spice but the story was so entertaining I didn’t mind

Better late than never!

I really loved this tale and was surprised to learn it was written in the 1990’s. I hope Audible is already working on the next two installments in the series. It had everything on my credit worthy must have list:
1) Strong but still vulnerable and determined heroine - check
2) A damaged hero who is all the more attractive because of it - check
3) Brothers, ranches, and travel by horseback - check, check, check
4) Mail order bride - check
5) Forbidden love - check
6) Talented narrator - BIG check
7) A bit of steam - check
It’s only missing two things ... sequels 2 and 3!

Lived up to my expectations

Very sweet. Rough, gruff men with hidden depths. Yet another book that you *really* can't judge by the horrible cover.

The narration was so mediocre. Quite bland with the same inflection on nearly every sentence.
