Resumen del Editor

For some, suffering less is as close to being happy as they’ll ever get. Alessa Dean is a girl who’s used to suffering. She was someone’s daughter, sister, niece.

She was whole...once.

Now, she’s got nothing left to lose and a choice to make that could change her life forever. A choice given to her by three men who belong to the Wayward Kraken motorcycle club. Three men who give her a way out and a chance to start over.

Will she take that chance and possibly find the ability to not only love someone else once again, but to love herself?

And maybe, just maybe, suffer less...if only a little.

This is a dark contemporary reverse harem romance with moments that will make cringe, laugh, and sometimes cry.

Trigger warning: This books contains themes some may find sensitive including: Overdose, violence, and attempt of rape.

Title doesn't do it Justice!!

Suffer Less by K.B. Everly and narrated by Melissa Schwairy was a HUGE surprise for me. Everly is a new author for me so I was a bit hesitant about listening to this. BOY WAS I SURPRISED!!
Alessa's story is heartbreaking, what she has gone through is amazing and how she has survived it all is inspirational. The men are great. Each is independent but necessary for Alessa.
This is definitely a story I will recommend and listen to again.
It's not as dark as I expected by the blurb, but there are things that could be a trigger for some.
This was well written and well narrated.
Melissa Schwairy is very talented and each character was easily distinguishable from others.
I look forward to hearing others by this narrator and author.
Would I listen to this book again? YES many times
Would I recommend this book to others? Yes, with the disclaimer of the triggers mentioned in the blurb.
This is an RH, so please be aware and 18+ only.

Good but not great

I liked the book but would not buy again. The story had major plot holes. She main character only has one leg but it’s hardly talked about, I feel there should have been more on that. The relationship between her and the three guys is also extremely underdeveloped. Actually all the relationships in this book are not developed and it is very frustrating because you want to like the book but so many obstacles make it where you just can’t get into it. Not worth a credit, maybe worth the money.

Suffer Less

What an emotional rollercoaster. So much happened right at the very beginning. It took a little bit for me to get the chemistry between her and the guys. I couldn't understand how they attached to her so quickly. Definetly includes some triggers and is a more mild dark story.
Narration by Melissa Schwairy was really good. I am not sure if I have listened to her before but definetly plan to again!

A dark yet beautiful ride...

Alessa Dean's life is changed forever the night she meets the three bikers while working as a waitress, though it's more a matter of all the wrong things in life converging just as it's offering up an escape route. No part of her personal story is light, and yet she manages to pull herself through it beautifully. At no point in the book does it feel like any one character is less important than the other, something not always easy to do in harem stories. Everly gave each of them distinctly different styles and yet in ways that each of them complimented each other. You could see why they were friends, and also how they could all fall for the same woman without ever begrudging one another.

I've gotten really used to books having more than one narrator if the characters all take turns as the narrators. I was incredibly impressed with Schwairy as a narrator. I realized early on that while there was not an obvious change in her voice, there was a subtle on there as she did the male characters versus the female character. I thought maybe I was just imaging it, but I made my husband listen at a couple different spots and even he thought it was a different person, despite it being a subtle shift. I will definitely be looking for more things that she narrates.

perfect

I really enjoyed this book so much. The character development and relationships are on point. I felt for the main character and her struggles. Most of this book is about overcoming those struggles, letting go of the past holding you back and the main character showed so much determination and courage to get away from the past that made her suffer. The men were real, charming,... I thoroughly enjoyed the side characters too. I wish I could read more books like these!

Definitely NOT a "Dark" Romance

Not even close. In fact, the only thing dark about this book is the deceptively-haunting book cover. Okay, there's a brief almost-rape. And the lead female lives in extreme poverty...is that the "dark"? Dark and reverse harem are my two go-to genres, so this vexes me. This story isn't dark. Like, at all. In fact, it's sugary -sweet. And that fine. It's a good story. The men are good ol' boy, waspy, clean living bikers. They don't curse of swear or look at women's "womanly parts". The lead female does the 1950's housewife seduction. In fact, the writing style and characters' behaviors are almost identical to those in the Unconventional series, so much that I wonder if it's the same writer, different pen names. If you're low-key thankful that this wasn't dark, you should check out the Unconventional series by Rebecca Royce. But if you prefer dark reverse harem romance s, I recommend the Sunshine/Bullets series. But be warned: it's trigger-happy, and it's got some teeth.
