No big moment, no build up, no character development. Easy to follow but the story was flat from beginning to end.

Ending

Ending was disappointing. Left me wanting more details and the introduction of Derk-the army buddy. Where did that come from? Not well developed

Great story

I love the way Kate White grabs you from the beginning and keeps you engrossed until the satisfying ending.

I enjoyed the book. quite a lot of build up although the reveal left me shocked, they could have trimmed a bit out.

fast moving mystery

Liked the setting: the smallish town atmosphere, more like an extended family, where everyone knows everyone else, their history, tribulations,associates, where bonds from childhoid, high school, remain as part of each character's tapestry, the ouTdoors, featuring many types of water: lakes, stresms, ponds, wooded areas, all signaling a respite, protection, safety, clesnsing, which is deceiving. liked the intensity of honesty, the passion of protection, the fierce news of friendship and the integrity of duty embedded into many of the main characters. this story moved right along, throwing some herrings along the way as the reader tried to pinpoint what happened to the disappeared woman as well as the reason it happened, while the characters liked askance at each other. thought that this was one the best in the Bailey Wiggins series. there was nothing that I disliked in this book. thought the narration was excellent.
