THE BRAND NEW NOVEL IN THE INTERNATIONAL #1 BESTSELLING RIVERS OF LONDON SERIES

"This isn’t London. The rules are different up here…"

All Detective Sergeant Peter Grant wanted was a nice holiday up in Scotland.

He'll need one once this is over...

Sea: check.

Sand: some.

Sun: sort of—but that's not the only thing in the sky...

I enjoyed this book immensely. Having been a long time fan of the series, I was slightly disappointed with some recent books, but this one lived up to Ben’s standards.

The best in the series for a while

More wry commentary on the thankless nature of low-level police drudgery, more creative mystical mysteries, more good showings from Beverly Brook, spy foxes, and other friends. These books reward a second listen because of all the details, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith is a national treasure.

Series continues to be a delight

The Rivers keeps getting better. I enjoyed the twists and turns, magical creatures, and the role of Abby, the foxes, and Beverly, what a tableau ! The Nightingale is a superb teacher. The location and description of where the intense action takes place had me hooked.

Great fun, intrigue, and science

Love this series, and sniggered at the Trump reference. Unfortunately, it will be YEARS before people don’t get that bit. Thanks much for this addition to the collection, Mr Aaronovitch.

Great entertainment as always

Stone & Sky took the world of Rivers of London expanded it substantially. It became more intricate and was an absolute frolic of a good time. Set in Scotland the existing folklore allowed the introduction of all sorts of new beings and unexpected twists were the result. Peter’s life with Bev and the twins also adds a new layer. Best of all Indigo and the talking foxes were everywhere. Personally, I would kill for an Indigo centered novella but this is close and every moment was a pleasure.

Scotland + More Indigo = Perfect!

I'm really enjoying the whole Rivers of London series. This one has less potential for nightmares for me, which I appreciate right now as I live in the US. I normally don't like more than one narrator but this worked very well with the two story lines. My complaint is that I didn't want it to end! I wanted to live inside the story for at least another couple of days.
Than you for another funny, loving, mind bending book!

brilliant writing!

I love all the characters and they’re mostly not vacation in Scotland. Because supervillains never take time off. But there are mermaids and fun strange accents and foods! Another awesome romp with supernaturals!!

Vacation danger in Scotland

Rivers of London is full of magic and surprises and Stone and Sky does not disappoint. Characters and situations remain fresh although I think I need to catch up with some of the graphic novels because Abigail is suddenly an adult, which felt sort of jarring to me. I was able to make the adjustment by the end of the novel but I feel like I missed some backstory on this. The audio versions of the novels are best—at this point Kobna Holdbrook-Smith IS Peter Grant for me. Rivers of London fans do not want to miss this one.

Fantastic series

I LOVE this series and look forward to each book and novella. I am a fan, but this offering missed the mark. Since I did experience it as an auditory telling, I can only critique it as such. Having two protagonist narrators may have weakened the overall story, but definitely having two narrators reading the novel broke it. I loved the Scotland setting, however, and I look forward to further adventures there.

Bright dialogue, magic as always. Great plot with lots of fun, laughs, mysteries and positively good fun.
