Just As Good As Book One!

This book continues the story that began in book one - be sure to start with that book. It is both tragic and tender, sad and humorous, haunting and romantic. I was immediately sucked in to the heartbreaking story of Brett, Sarah and Jesse. It's raw, gut-wrenching with tears, anger, humor, heartache, and of course, lots of sex. And in the end, it's all as it should be.

The dual narration was a good choice for this story. The narrators gave a solid performance.

I must say I am happy that I didn't listen to book one because it seems like that one does not end the way I would have enjoyed. Now this story was deep and full of road blocks but they figured it out with a lot of compromise and understanding. This was a heart jerker with some good nukie AND there is a twist....

Amazing Performance

The roller coaster of a story may or may not appeal to you, but the performances were awesome. I felt each character completely, and thought, in particular, the male lead was impeccable. I felt his pain, his comfort, .....his JERKINESS. Wow, that guy was a piece of work sometimes. But both characters were real. No sugar-coating it for us listeners.

Great listen.

Hopeless Romance

All I can say is I loved this storyline. It sounded natural and exciting. I was shocked to find out who caused the accident. I forgot that she was mentioned in the first book about disappearing. Awesome read.

Great series

This is Caleb's story. He lost his fiancé in a car accident five years earlier. He blames fiancé's best friend Sarah. When Sarah's sister comes to town to take care of her, he falls in love with her. He must learn to let go of his hatred and pain in order to move forward.

Caleb and Emmy

Wow. Caleb was a hot mess of grief and angry. When Emma stopped being a brat, they were great together. The shock of the truth was a long time coming.

Not on par with her usual work

I’ve listened to many books by Aly Martinez and have loved them all until this one. I honestly think it’s because this series is almost a decade old and the author is still young. She was either a teen or young adult and it’s very possible that the characters were based on young couples that Martinez was around? It sounded a lot like the first real relationship I had with getting mad over the dumbest things and uncalled for theatrics. But now I’m invested and have to finish the series. My ocd won’t let me stop, sadly.

If this is your first series/novel by Aly Martinez, please don’t think this is her norm. Read or listen to the regret duo or release/reclaim. They are phenomenal. I’m glad I already had an opinion on her before I read this one.

Better than book 1!

What did you love best about Stolen Course?

Everything. I love Caleb and Emma. They are so perfect for each other. If book 1 (Changing Course) was great, this one knocked me off my feet! It's an emotional rollercoaster and I had to pause a few times to let all that happened sink in. The main characters are written so perfectly.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Stolen Course?

When all the pieces of the puzzle finally came together regarding what happened in the past. That was a pivotal moment in all their lives.

What about Christian Fox and Lucy Rivers ’s performance did you like?

I love Christian Fox and Lucy Rivers. Their performance were amazing, especially Lucy's. From the beginning to til the end, I love all of it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The moment after the steak dinner. I feel for Caleb.

Any additional comments?

I rate books but I dont normally do reviews but with this series, I have to. It's a great story of two people who are willing to fight for their forever.

If Aly Martinez writes it, I'm reading it, and her debut series, Wrecked and Ruined, is no exception. I eyeball read the first book and upon seeing books two-three were included with my Audible Subscription, I immediately ran to download them. This story is swoony, it's a little emotional, and I really enjoyed the narration. This is a quick listen and I was attached to my headphones - finishing this one in one sitting.
