Saving the world is tricky enough, but doing it while chronically broke is another thing entirely. I don't have time to worry about paying my rent—even if I am late. Yet again.

And I don't have time for romance, even if my heart has other ideas. Especially when it comes to a beautiful but distant incubus, and a vampire bodyguard I have no business finding attractive . . . Talk about complicated.

But the clock's ticking. Somehow, I've got to steal the key, avoid my family, and figure out my love life before things go to hell in a hand-basket. Oh, and I need to stay alive. Can't forget that.

All I've got are my shaky necromancy powers, an awkward sense of humor in the face of danger, and an empty wallet to assist me. Piece of cake . . . right?

(Overview: This series is about The mis-Adventures of a snarky fuck-up who mostly tries to do the right thing, & all his bad luck slowly turning out to be not-so-terrible after all. It has a great payoff & a HEA, but we gotta climb out of the gutter with Dallas to get there, so hang on to your fish, it’s a grinder out there.)

Dallas is in constant danger & denial in Book 2, but learning is half the battle. More morally grey choices, but the adventuring party grows a little more in this one… just a hint of outline on that Found Family ;) *We’re breaking down walls physically and emotionally, as delicious highs and lows await in Book 2!

#1. Kevin is still the best character. #2. You’ve really got to stay dedicated to the finishing the whole series of three books.
You can do it! It’s 1000% worth it, & how it’s meant to be read (in my opinion). Plus, Kirt Graves is still killin it ;) ;) get it. Still hilarious.

*Yes, there’s a slow burn MMM, but we’re still not there yet. If you’re here for that (no judgement from this fan), book 2 does hint at the idea (for readers, not Dallas - he’s oblivious & struggling with self-worth, poor boy). It’s book 3 that delivers big time on the Found Family and Double-Boyfriends.

Omg!

This was a wild ride! I’m so glad I waited for book three to be out before tackling it. Dallas is unapologetically himself - until he isn’t. I loved seeing him grow and learning more about his past. I loved seeing the developing relationships he has with not only romantically with Zane and Sias, but platonically with Barnaby too.

Love everything from Maz!

I’ve been keeping an eye out for this to come to audible and it certainly didn’t disappoint. As always, Maz perfectly balances drama, humor, action, and romance.

Fair warning though, it does end on one heck of a cliffhanger.

Yes, World Building!!

I got what I wanted! I felt the world building was second to the romance in book 1. Book 2 feels better balanced and I love it

Even better than the first book!

The performance was excellent , as usual. And the story got better and better every chapter. Can’t wait for the third book-I hope there are even more!

Not what I expected

The first book was feisty, quick witted and a nice romp through matters sometimes dark, sometimes sexy and often hilarious. The sequel quickly got gloomy, overly dramatic, silly and pathetic to an eye roll level. The cliffhanger was simply rude.
