Stella has fallen on hard times, but something tells me she'll never take a handout. That doesn't mean I'm not going to try to help, so of course I put in a good word to get her a job. She's smart enough to know I had a hand in it, but that's what friends are for, right?

With each day that passes, Stella becomes more than just a friend. She's my best friend—who I apparently can't keep my hands off. She's worried we're complicating things, but screw that. Blurred lines or not, I ask her to stay anyway.

Stella & Maverick

I liked the narrators voices okay as the main characters, but not a fan of either of them voicing the other book characters. Just because Maverick has 8 brothers and a father doesn't mean we need 10 unique voices for them all.

Almost zero angst, this is a strangers to friends to more to forever.

Maverick finds Stella and her daughter Ava with a flat tire and saves the day. He immediately brings her into the family, feeling like she needs a good support system in place - and then spends the next few months denying how deeply his feelings run.

Simple, not quite love at first sight, less than 1% drama, small town, found family. It's all the good things and is a very easy book to finish in a day or two.
