One of my favorite series, but terrible narration

I love these books and have been waiting for them to be available in audio for years. I was so excited to see this one and immediately bought it and pre-ordered the next one. I almost couldn't finish it.

I love Miach and was really looking forward to him being brought to life in audio, but the narration was terrible. The narrator's voice is flat and stilted and mostly emotionless. She pauses in the middle of every sentence which makers it hard to listen to. I love the story so I finished it anyway. I've read the books numerous times because I love visiting this world, but I don't think I'll be able to listen to this a second time.

I really hope the narration is better for the second book.

A story to read or listen to again and again

I truly love this series it's warm and fun . The people, the friends you would like to talk to and hope will have the happy ending they deserve . I have read all the books but book twelve more then once , and the first three so many times I need new ones . I got the Audible copy to listen to when my hands are working and my head is not 😉 it's well read and easy to listen to .

Just glad it was finally out in audio. I look forward to listening to more in this series. Morgan's comments about the king (who was under cover through part of the book) were pretty funny.

Any additional comments?

Lynn Kurland's fantasy series runs in trilogies. This is the first one. I highly recommend it if you like fantasy, strong female characters, romance, and lots of action.

I read this book years ago

It is one of my all time favorite books and series. The characters are captivating, the story keeps you wanting more..

Engaging & Charming

I can’t help but love every word. This is such a charming ! Engaging story. I couldn’t stop listening!!! Each character is complex! Every event has feeling & dynamic!!! I will be looking for more books by this author. I very happily stubbled across Lynn Kurland’s books and so grateful I did!!! I love finding new Authors to follow!!!!

Great Author, Interesting story, Terrible narration

I read this book when it first came out and liked it very much. I saw it was on Audible and wanted to revisit. The narrator reads this book like it is a phone book. If it was not for the author writing out, who said what, you would think the book had one character only. Very little, if any, character differentiation can be detected. While I would like to listen to the other 2 offered, I realize they have the same narrator and I don't think i can suffer through regardless of the storyline. Even Kevin Costner could have provided more range.
