Resumen del Editor

Remus: mysterious sister world to Romulus. A planet where hope surrendered to darkness long ago. A planet whose inhabitants have been without a voice for generations. But that's about to change.

Earth: home to Starfleet, where the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-E gathers under the crystal blue skies of an Alaskan day to celebrate the wedding of Will Riker and Deanna Troi. The joy of the day is overshadowed only by the knowledge that this is the last time they will all be together, as soon-to-be Captain Riker and his ship's counselor, Deanna Troi, will shortly be departing for their new ship.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the Enterprise crew are suddenly diverted for an unexpected diplomatic mission to the planet Romulus. Longtime enemies of the Federation, the Romulans have expressed their desire to initiate negotiations that will hopefully lead to a long-awaited unity in the galaxy. But upon their arrival on Romulus, the Enterprise crew is faced with a threat that could lead to the destruction of the planet Earth, and Picard comes face to face with a man who may prove to be his most dangerous adversary yet...and a surprisingly personal nemesis.

it was a decent slightly expanded story.

I thought the performance was well done, but the story seemed weaker than the movie for the battle scenes and others. it is a loose adaptation of the movie. the highlight was the Blue Skies performance.

Better than the movie!

Little character plot holes like Data's missing chip and Worf's presence bothered me. The novel ignored Wesley's (mostly cut) presence in the film. JM Dillard knows how to write these characters, though and Boyd Gaines does an excellent Picard and even sings Blue Skies as Data!

This book lets the character moments breathe and makes the end more emotional than the Movie.

Good job telling the story. well read.

Good job telling the story.. The parts that the movie left out gave me a fuller understanding of the story. Well read.

Very entertaining audiobook

I have to hand it to Boyd Gaines, he made this book extra special with his excellent voice rendering of most of the cast, in particular Captain Picard and his ‘evil clone’. Though he was not quite able to replicate the rich baritone of Worf, he was very good with everyone else and I might add, has a pleasing tenor singing voice for Data’s rendition of ‘Blue Skies’.
Very good incidental music and sounds as well, not too intrusive.

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing.
