An appeal to common sense and reason; no resort to intense knowledge and intelligence

What does Deepak Chopra bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I am a great fan for reading. I never liked to hear. Now I am starting to like it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not moved but impressed by his phrases "secular spirituality" and "spiritual materialism". Obviously strange and paradoxical but meaningful in this day and age.

Any additional comments?

I was hesitant to buy the book; I am now glad I did. Deepak does not come out with some magical solutions -- no "money back " guarantees -- to problems under discussion. He does help in his easy and simple style to locate and identify the knots in one's mind and thinking and then goes on to at least loosen them if not completely untie them. On a personal note, I am also a Physician Cardiologist and was born, educated and trained in Bombay (now Mumbai), India.

The thing I like about Audible is that it delivers books in a way that make them feel like conversations, especially books like this. I enjoy listening to Deepak Chopra because I find his voice very soothing and his books always serve to bring my attention to a way of thinking that I may not have considered. I listen to books while I drive and listening to this book is like having a personal conversation with the author... which cracks me up, because the book was perfect for driving in traffic or on my way to work! If you like Deepak Chopra's work you will like this book. If you haven't listened to any of Deepak Chopra's work before I suggest you listen to a clip before purchasing because he has a heavy accent. I find the accent soothing and easy to listen to.

Such deep insights to life!

This book is perfectly titled and completely lives up to it's title. Deepak Chopra is very thorough in answering "spiritual" solutions to life's greatest challenges in a very precise and easy to understand style. His "solutions" are presented in a way that fits with what ever your religion is. Because they are "spiritual solutions"! I enjoy listening to Deepak's wonderful accent as he narrates his own book. However, I took one star away from the performance aspect as others might not enjoy his accent as I do. I am so thrilled to be able to listen to books, since I am a slow reader with a mind that has a veracious appetite for knowledge and information, especially about spiritual growth! I will most likely read (listen) to all of Deepak's books!

An opportunity to change life patterns to become your true personality. Deepak Chopra speaks from a scientific knowledge as a medical doctor to make real the ways to approach each of life's challenges with the calm, reasoned, work of total awareness of all things that happen.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Spiritual Solutions?

How the body and soul can be in harmony with the point of view of the student (you). Understanding that the only thing you really have control over is the Now, The past is past, and the future is not yet visable.

Insightful and practical

Rarely do I find a book that is both spiritually insightful and practical. This book fulfills that purpose and is also uplifting.

I did have two issues; - In retrospect, would have preferred the print version as I wanted to highlight passages for future reference.

Also, I found that Deepak's voice was too deadpan for enjoyable listening. I tried slowing down the pace, and that helped - but I could only listen to short sessions. Good advice is like medicine - it needs to be taken in small portions.

Exceptional

One of the greatest books ever written. A must read for those on a spiritual journey.

Issue with narration

I purchased hardcopy of the book which was wonderful. Thought of owning an audible as well, so that I can reinforce my reads on the move. I was disappointed.
Deepak speaks well at shows and interviews, but not at reading. Found him monotonous. Someone else would have done a much better job. Will not buy his audible books, but his hard copies are still good reads.

Deepak is so easy to understand and learn from. Must have pen and paper to take notes as there is so much information

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I found the thesis clearly stated and Deepak Chopra's performance just fine. But I was not convinced, the book seemed to be lacking evidence or supporting proofs, either scientific or anecdotal. Not his strongest outing.
