Cal Carver's time is about to run out.
He and his space team are broke. Forced to take low-paying gun-for-hire jobs just to keep the food replicator working, their prospects are not looking good.
When they pick up a distress signal from a luxury space cruiser, they think their luck might be about to change. And it does; sadly, not in the way they'd hoped.
Someone has detonated a time bomb aboard the cruiser - an experimental device designed to shatter time itself. As the team passes through the fragments, their personal timelines begin moving at very different speeds, and an ageing Cal is forced to live out decades aboard the ship surrounded by his now statuelike crewmates and the mutated, inbred descendants of the cruiser's former inhabitants.
As if that isn't bad enough, the time bomb was just a test for the real weapon - a weapon that could spell a fate worse than death for Space Team and the enslavement of the entire galaxy.

AFTER the book has ended there is a little gift
This series has been a blast. I really enjoy the narration. Phil Thron is a pleasure to listen to.
After the end of the book there is a 'blooper' reel. It is Phil Thron laughing and flubbing lines.

Maybe not the universe but definitely my world. I absolutely must get the next book as I have to know what happens to the team. And I better read that the team is restored to their natural order.

Cal is hands down my favorite literary character.
Barry’s combination of levity and sci-fi has me entranced. I just can’t wait to see what comes next and how Cal is going make it worse before him and the rest of Space Team save the day. This is definitely a feel good series that always lifts my spirits yet keeps me on the edge of my seat. Keep them coming Barry. I can’t get enough.

Phil Thron's best, most passionate performance yet. However, be warned, some parts of the story feel as if it took a lifetime to get through. A thoroughly fun read!

Another solid addition.
These stories are fantastic. Can't wait for the rest. The narrator is perfect for the material as well.

One of the best series out there
I am in LOVE with this series. Barry Hutchison has written amazing stories and characters I totally addicted! And Phil Thron just brings them all to life I laugh out loud in the car all the time listening to all of these! And I must say the added bloopers at the end was wonderful! I hope they keep coming it’s the highlight of my week when I get to listen
