Good narrator, okay story

My first time listening to this narrator and I thought he did a good job. I've already looked for other books narrated by him. The story was ok. It wasn't strong enough to draw me in and Cal (the main character) was hard to identify with and his personality was annoying. The story was not strong enough to draw me into buying any of his other works.

Loved it

Phil Thron is one of my favorite narrators, he has been excellent in everybook I have heard him in and this one is no different. You won't get mixed up with who's talking because Phil has voices to spare. Oh and Barry J Hutchison isn't too bad either, he writes thoroughly entertaining and silly books. I can't help but chuckle outloud no matter where I am while listening. So go ahead, check out this fonking book already.

Laugh out loud fun

From the reviews I knew going in what to expect and it didn't disappoint. Fun and laugh out loud at times story line.

Perfect for Comedy fans!

I have never laughed so hard in my life. This book was what would happen if Monty Python or the cast of SNL went to space. It's got the jokes in all the right places, and a bunch of pop culture nods (mainly Star Trek and Star Wars). The reading by Phil Thron just added to the hilarity. His voices for the characters were spot on. I definitely plan to manipulate the Chaotic Equilibrium to solve the problem in the floors and buy the next book in this series,

An epic book, this is not

At times it is funny, but not nearly often enough to compensate for the main character, who was easily the hardest thing to survive over, secondary characters faired better but not truly much, a very average scifi book.

That said will give second book a go, hoping it would have more soul

A bit of simple fun

Its fun. Worth a credit...um, sure, if you have one, and you want something fun to listen to.

Could do without "Jesus" as a swear word

I was looking for something light, funny and mindless and that is what I got. My only complaint is that "Jesus" and "Jesus Christ" is used as swear words. As a Christian, I find it offensive and Non-Christians won't miss it if it isn't there, so it would be great if it would be left out. The rest of the swearing isn't that much of an issue and would be expected in a book like this.

Fun listen

It is very difficult to write a Sci-fi comedy but there were a few LOLs just not as many as I had hoped for. Still, it was worth getting & listening to.

Entertaining but nothing special

The story was interesting enough to hold my attention but the characters were shallow and the plot fairly obvious.

The lead character is more annoying than charming and hard to like. This was at best a mediocre book and the performance was also mediocre. Not a bad narrator but not great either.
