Great history, sweet story

The author obviously researched well. It was fun to hear a story in a setting that I know and I’ve been outside the Sorrento which is now a hotel. I was curious about it and I now I know more.
I look forward to what this author is going to do next.

This is a very good narration of a clean fiction book. I enjoyed listening to this book.

Heartwarming Listen

My daughters and I really enjoyed listening to this book! The conflict between love and career is common for women to face, and I appreciate how the story provided a natural opportunity to talk about these themes with my daughters. Seeing the main character grow throughout the story is very satisfying. Against the historical background of WWII era Washington state, the author weaves in quotes and inspiration from Amelia Armstrong's life, which add interest and context for the plot. Ellen Quay's easy to listen to voice is both happy and calming. She gives the story a whimsical feel while also retaining the depth and range of emotions that the main character expresses throughout the book.

Light pleasant story. Had a bit of a twist at the end. It was enjoyable.

Wonderful BOok

I listened to the book on audible and loved it. The narrator was fantastic. I found it to be entertaining and intriguing. I couldn't wait to get back to it to find out what was happening next. Plus, I loved reading about Seattle as I have visited there often.
I am looking forward to Dawn's next book.

Overall a wonderful story!

this book was very different from my usual choice however I truly enjoyed it! the twists and turns as the story progressed were great. I will be listening again with my girls once they become pre-teens/teens.

A Welcome Escape

Entering the world of Ann and the Hotel Sorrento in the 1930s was a welcome respite from the chaos of today. I found Ms. Klinge's imaginative story and Ms. Quay's narration to be a delightful combination. "Sorrento Girl" is the literary equivalent of a warm slice of apple pie a la mode -- a comforting classic that makes one feel right at home.

Sweet Historical Romance

This was a sweet story! I loved all the female support Ann got from her Aunt, school friends and her employer!
I enjoyed the narration too!
