Historia
On Blue's Waters is the start of a new work by Gene Wolfe which takes place in the years after Wolfe's four-volume Book of the Long Sun. Horn, the narrator of the earlier work, now tells his own story. Though life is hard on the newly settled planet of Blue, Horn and his family have made a decent life for themselves. But Horn is the only one who can locate the great leader Silk and convince him to return to Blue and lead them all to prosperity. So Horn sets sail in a small boat, on a long and difficult quest across the planet Blue in search of the now legendary Patera Silk.

Historia
When Michael Moorcock began chronicling the adventures of the albino sorcerer Elric, last king of decadent Melniboné, and his sentient vampiric sword, Stormbringer, he set out to create a new kind of fantasy adventure, one that broke with tradition and reflected a more up-to-date sophistication of theme and style. The result was a bold and unique hero: a rock-and-roll antihero who would channel all the violent excesses of the '60s into one enduring archetype.

There has always been a darkness to Ilmar, but never more so than now. The city chafes under the heavy hand of the Palleseen occupation, the choke-hold of its criminal underworld, the boot of its factory owners, the weight of its wretched poor and the burden of its ancient curse. What will be the spark that lights the conflagration? Despite the city's refugees, wanderers, murderers, madmen, fanatics and thieves, the catalyst, as always, will be the Anchorwood–that dark grove of trees, that primeval remnant, that portal, when the moon is full, to strange and distant shores.

Historia
You define life or it defines you. In Shawn Speakman’s case, it was both. Lacking health insurance and diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2011, Shawn quickly accrued a massive medical debt that he did not have the ability to pay. That’s when New York Times best-selling author Terry Brooks offered to donate a short story that Shawn could sell to help alleviate those bills—and suggested he ask the same of his other writer friends. Unfettered is the result: An anthology built in order to relieve that debt, featuring short stories by some of the best fantasy writers in the genre.

Good story
This proved to be a good story, performed well. It might be better read than listened to, as the quantity of names and details was sometimes overwhelming.
I think this could be compared to Homer's Odyssey. It has a man traveling, unable to get home and spends a good deal of time exploring the Greek world. Like Odysseus, he meets gods/ goddesses and the encounters reveal something of their character.

Great story of course but is anyone gonna point out that the cover art of the second novel lists it as the third? And the third novel is listed as the second? This should be fixed

Great story, even better narrating!
Narrator did a great job with pronunciation and the different voices in the book. My favorite was IO. I was reading the paper version also. My recommendation is to read slowly and, as needed, go back and reread certain sections to remind yourself of names mentioned previously; it helps with context. I found it helpful to refer to the glossary as well to clear up some things. If you aren’t familiar with Greek mythology, the book may not have as much meaning. However, even without that knowledge, it’s a good series. Like I said, it is easier to understand if you take your time and return to previous chapters, to reread information about characters and/or events, as you go.
