Distracted by narrator

Not a bad story, may have been ok if I'd read it rather than listening. This audio book, however, had a strange narration style that distracted me from the story. For example, in some places it was obvious that a sentence had extended onto a new line or new page because of odd pauses between words that was in no way related to what was being said.

This was an interesting mystery and charming love story.

What other book might you compare So This Is Love to and why?

It compares well to All A Heart Needs also by Barbara Freethy. Sadly I wrote my review on that one that actually applies to this book.

What about Emily C. Michaels’s performance did you like?

Emily speaks clearly and gives life to the various chacters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, I did tear up a time or two. I was embarrassed by the intimate details.

I will try to change my review that appears on the other great book by Barbara Freethy and provide a proper one.

loved it! The Callaway's are one of my favorite series I can read or listen to over & over again!

Great workplace romance

Would you consider the audio edition of So This Is Love to be better than the print version?

Both versions are really good.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Emma! I loved her determination and courage.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved when Emma met Max's brother for the first time. He had some great things to say about Max!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There are a few scenes that were moving between Max and his family or between Max and Emma.

Any additional comments?

I love this series and each book can be enjoyed as a standalone. The Callaway's are a great family!

Very good suspense, romance, and narration

This is Max and Emma's story, the second in the Callaways series. Max and Emma hunt for an arsonist and a murderer and find love along the way. I love the story, the writing, the suspense, and the characters. The only thing I didn't like was the frequent mention of thoughts of sex. Very tiresome. But the story is well-written and enjoyable. The narration is very good.

I skipped a lot of this book. Repetitive, and annoying. I'm not sure why I didn't dump it except that I feel that is giving up which goes against my nature. But it's hours I'll never get back:-(
