Resumen del Editor

The first book in Preminger's Southern Gothic family secrets epic, The Arizona Series.

It’s 1984, and 15-year-old Arizona is doing his best to take care of his younger brothers and sister while their daddy drives a truck cross-country and spends his paycheck on booze and gambling. In small-town Southwestern Louisiana, his family is known as the lowest of the low, and they say it’s on account of a family curse that’s so ugly, no one would dare speak of it.

Then Arizona’s daddy loses his job, and things go from bad to worse. He baits Arizona into a fight, and their brawl results in him and his brothers and sister being split up by Social Services. Arizona is determined to make a better man of himself and take care of his siblings, but he’s up against a world controlled by adults, small-town prejudices, and unfathomable family secrets that will change everything he thought he knew about himself.

Sins of Yesterday

An amazing coming of age story. It broaches real intense topics with such delicacy. Can't wait to start the next book.

the strength of one young man

Sins of Yesterday is Book 1 in the Arizona series and should be read in order as it's a continuing story. This is a wonderfully written intense, emotional, heartbreaking, coming of age story with so many secrets, and I didn't want it to end. It captured me from the very beginning and hasn't let go. This book is told from Arizona's point of view, a fifteen year old with way too much on his shoulders for such a young man. He is the oldest with a younger sister and two younger brothers. Arizona tries to keep his family together, but his daddy makes that very difficult for him and when secrets start showing their faces in the light Arizona has to makes some very difficult choices. I love the strength Arizona has and his determination not to give up. I was not expecting the book to end the way it did and now I want to know what's going to happen for Arizona. I definitely recommend this book. And if you've read the book I recommend listening to it also.
Narrator Gabriel Michael does an amazing job in bringing this book to life. This is one of the best books I've listened to. The narrator really captures the emotions of the characters.

Gripping

First off this book is not erotica, I'm unsure why it was classified as such but it is clearly not that.
The story is about love, loyalty, loss, and acceptance. I love the smooth writing style of this author. Im a huge fan of V.C. Andrews, and if you like any of her earlier work before she passed and her family hired a ghostwriter, you will love this book as well. This book is just as dark and heartbreaking as the Casteel series written by V.C. Andrews.

As for the narration please, please keep Gabriel Michael!
He did a amazing job with the narration. His changes in voices was seamless brought to life every character.

It was so heartwarming, tragic and beautiful story of a loving, caring and strong gay man. I’m so excited to see the next book to see where this very talented author will take Arizona in his life. What an incredible story. So worth the time and credit. Do yourself a favor and purchase this book. Wow!!!!!!

Fantastic Story, Gabriel Michael is Superb!

Romeo Preminger always crafts a gripping story, but he’s outdone himself with Sins of Yesterday. These characters! The drama! This one is edge of your seat, mind blowing, can not put it down, superb.

And as thoroughly marvelous as the first part of Arizona's story is to read, Sins of Yesterday is even more epic in audio!

Gabriel Michael is a new narrator to me, and I’m blown away. His accents are spot on, and the variety of different voices he came up with for this extensive cast of characters, is nothing short of spectacular. I’m so impressed! Women, children, and old folks. Spoiled southern belles, rural hicks, and snooty New England prepsters. His range is amazing.

This is a fast moving, exciting story with clever twists and turns, and everything is set up perfectly for Daddy’s Boy. I literally Can Not Wait!

very triggering

********************
possible triggers: abused by a parental figure, a mental facility, taboo relationships, split family.
********************

this book started off very well The kid in the story faced lots of abuse this could be triggering for some. Father made one sexual advance never got physical mostly seemed for intimidation. main character has a boyfriend relationship seems very normal for age.

The taboo happens after he moves in with his step grandfather and the uncle that lives in the cottage off the estate. The main character at the time of the sexual relationship was 16 the uncle was said to be double his age 2 years younger than the dead mother.

relationship seems to become sexual slow innuendos at first then progresses into a sexual relationship after reading the many books in the uncle's house about gay romance.

I stopped listening to the book after the first encounter with the uncle I could make it through the pri or reading but for some reason seeing an uncle or a parental figure no matter how long they've known each other do something like that. made me lose interest in the book.

The narrator of this book is absolutely amazing his voice is very smooth and is accent is quite charming. The writing of the book is very well done but once again it's highly triggering and the taboo relationship just doesn't sit right with me That's not to say that this book isn't for some just not for me.
