Surprisingly addictive and unexpected story

Loved it!! Couldn't put it down. The story was well woven and really full of surprises.

Best ever

Developed and thoughtful story line. Best ever from this author. Detailed female characters portrayed well by the narrator. Wish the Gullah heritage had been more intricately portrayed. In my travels the museums and remains show a rich heritage that exceeds mere superstition.

Love this author, thos is the 4th book I've read of hers and will read more!! Mary Kay has a way of capturing you r attention and keeping it through the last chapter!
