There's nothing eleven-year-old Marty Preston enjoys more than spending time up in the hills behind his home near Friendly, West Virginia.

But this time is different. This time Marty sees a young beagle on the road past the old Shiloh school-house.

Very good book for kids. Excellent narration.

Both a good story and an outstanding presentation with an authentic accent and change of voice by the narrator. Really enjoyed a book my son was reading in 3rd grade.

Importance of family and values

This story was very full of emotions but was great in showing how hard work pays off and the value of respect. Treating others how you want to be treated.
