The scandals that might have been

I really liked the way the secret love child’s parents were canceled to most. It was good the way people could overlook someone’s ethnicity/origin of birth. Later those same people would overlook the island’s teacher’s secret in much the same way. Excepting people without passing harsh judgement. Loved that theme in the book.

Lovely characters

I enjoyed hearing about the different generations that lived on the island and getting to know the well developed characters.
