Second Comes War

This is the second book in the Promised In Blood series. This book is crazy. Just when I thought I knew what was happening, it changed. Lorenzo is the craziest and I’m here for it. That last bonus scene was 🥵! Maeve York and Walker Williams has done an excellent job narrating this book.

Loved this!

This series is definitely becoming one of my faves! The characters, the action and everything else is so good. I literally can’t get enough!

Can’t wait to read the last one! Definitely recommend!

2nd comes war!!!

WHAT!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT I JUST HEARD. That end was crazy. ahhh I need book 3 like yesterday. GUYS this book is so freaking good. omg I can't believe it. Idk what to say. but you guys have to get it.

Second Comes War is book 2 in a great series! Maeve and Walker have once again done an amazing job bringing Chiara, Salvatore, Cassius, Vinicius, and Lorenzo's story to life! There were some voices that I wish would've been a bit better when they were doing the other genders' voices, but other than that, I really enjoyed it! I can't wait to listen to book 3!

Excellent book 2, need book 3

“Welcome to the party, princess. Buckle the F— up.”

This installment is laid out a little differently than book 1. It picks up pretty much where book 1 left off, and there’s a lot of time spent on romance and steam so we can get to know the men better. There is mystery throughout, but it’s not a true mystery. As in, it is to the characters, but to the reader it’s extremely predictable.

Still, it’s a fun ride. Packed with action, drama, danger, blood, captivity, betrayal … ends on a wicked cliffhanger.

Recommended read.

The audio is perfection, dual narrator, though it sounds like full-cast thanks to the accents, etc.
Well done. A 5-star production.

This is the third book I've read/ listened to by Lilith Vincent, The second in this series. Ihave the same reactionafter listeningto this audio... whoa. Her audiobooks are complicated and difficult listens.

In this audiobook, Chiara stands strong. She is adjusting and surviving in a cruel world. She's perfect for these guys. We get to know more of the back story for Salvatore, Cassius, Lorenzo, and Vinicius. It's devastating. We get another brutal cliffhanger that has me on edge! I cannot wait for the next audiobook!

Walker Williams and Maeve York are excellent narrators. They have brought this book to life with emotional performances that roll like a movie in my head. It's perfection.

I am really loving this series. War was jam packed with action, spice and everything nice, it was quite the ride and I'm so excited for more. The audio was good too, I'm still not loving Maeve's male voices, especially Cassius, but I enjoyed Walker's voices and the audio overall.

The spice ramp up in this one was fantastic. I loved the group scenes and we even get a bonus MM chapter at the end that was to unalive for. Chiara learning to really be herself was really great too, she was so timid in the first one, but in this one she was here for it all and loved it. I felt like her relationship with Lorenzo went a touch warp speed, but overall I was here for it. He's probably my favorite guy of hers and I couldn't get enough of his kisses.

I'm so excited for the book three audio and getting to see how this series wraps up. The cliffhanger was really wild and has be hanging by a thread, so hopefully it's soon or I may have to grab the kindle version first.

Wow, this one definitely grabbed my attention!

This is my second read/listen from this author and I thought she did a good job with book 1, setting the stage for this mafia world and book 2 elevated the storyline and really had me engaged. I breezed through this one and cannot wait to get my hands on book 3 because that ending!!!!! Ripped my heart out.

I knew some of the twists coming in this one but some of the others had me shocked! First off, I appreciate how much Chiara has grown in this series already. She finally stands up for herself with the men and its great to see. Also she breaks down their walls, one guy at a time, and helps relieve them of their burdens regarding their trauma from before she met them. They each have their own story and boy was it a gut punch. I mean we find out they lose loved ones in book 1 but never how it happened. I won’t give things away but the intricate storyline is done really well and makes you feel for these guys after the darkness and brashness they have exuded previously. I absolutely loved how Chiara pushed their relationship and demanded things from them haha. She realized she had gone too far in an instance and apologized but also pushed them to admit things. So good!! And the steam was fab but the tender moments were what got me, especially from one of the guys you wouldn’t expect it. I appreciated the OTT obsessive nature and protective mind from the guys, even if it was frustrating they definitely cherished her and were trying to keep her safe after everything. I am so excited for book 3 and cannot wait to see how the author wraps this up after the eye-opening ending of this one!!!

Narration was spectacular in this one. I think because of the subject and flashbacks, these narrators (especially the male narrator) really had to dig deep and convey the brutality and devastation these 4 men went through, the tension and push and pull between Chiara and them when they wouldn’t let her in on what happened, and the fear Chiara had with the dahlia’s latest victim and what was going to come of her. She tried to be strong for her men but it wasn’t possible the whole time and the performances did a great job bringing those situations to life.

4.5 star listen I really enjoy this mafia romance.
Our fmc has 4 men that are all fabulous. They are all possessive and need to learn how to love.

There were x2 times that our fmcs outfit description changes from when she puts it on to when one of her men take it off but that’s an editing issue. Narration is fabulous.

Definitely worth the listen.
Can’t wait for the third instalment.
