Ever and Cade.
Sorry I vanished like I did. I'm not sure I can even explain things. I don't know when I'll be back. If I'll be back. I'm not sure of anything, except that I love you, Ever. You're my twin, my best friend, and leaving you was the hardest thing I've ever done. I know you don't understand. Maybe you never will. I hope you don't, honestly. It would be easier that way. That's cowardly, I'm sure. Cade, take care of her. Love her, the way she deserves. The way you always have, for forever and always. If I could ask you anything, it's that you remember me as I was, and forget me as I am. I'm sorry, and goodbye, and I love you.

This book has some flaws, some over-the-top scenes and of course, a lot of drama. More importantly it also contains a series of poignant moments; the introduction of a wonderful family that differs from those of the previous books main characters. The climax of this audiobook is predictable; (at least it was to me) but also quite logical given the characters circumstances.
The flaws; Eden's love interest Carter's transition seems a little too abrupt to take seriously, and given all the circumstances, Eden's continual fear and barely discernible self esteem came off as more than a little ridiculous. I mean given her description of Carter and all he went through with prior to starting a relationship with her, he's obviously not gonna pick up and leave anytime soon. Really taking on being her entire support system during her pregnancy; not to mention doing a $100,000 remodel on her residence for free. I doubt that any 27 year old man would go to those lengths to just to hit it a few times; then drop her and git it.
The extreme dysfunctional nature of Cade and Ever's marriage once she awakens from her long coma would seem to be too shaky to last as it was. Alas the timing of this story line depended on their ability to walk the wire between the past and the truth under that amount of pressure for over six months without losing control at some point.
Those small holes were more than covered by the wit and the depth of the author's prose and her skill in bringing her characters to life. The narrators; particularly Piper Goodeve were great; I really liked the ending. Of more importance, in our mismatched group of four one of the women actually boo-hooed more than I did. After originally giving up far too quickly on book one of the trilogy I fell into the rhythm of book and listened to the next two in less than a week. This was an excellent series and this book is the best of three.
Strong Finish
