What a book, really threw me for a loop. Its interesting, gripping, and keeps you guessing. I was more invested in the characters and plot than during the first book. Bird's chaos continues. Although she showed good personal development and growth throughout this story. I still wish she would stop and think things through a bit more! However her emotional half cocked responses to some situations made this more believable and very relatable. I thought the action scenes were well written and exciting! The ending really snuck up on me. A couple of clever twists and a quick gut punch(still reeling), has me in shock, but ready to start the next one! This book will have you in a range of emotions for sure!

I wasn't sold on the first book Salt, but bought the second book just to see if the dog lives, only to have it die at the end of this book. The story is good, I am glad to see there is character development happening. But seriously, how do you let the dog die when everything in this post pandemic, climate change ending world has gone to hell?
