Conjure Series, Book 1

The year is 1889.

Set in a small Louisiana parish, deep in the segregated South, Rootwork follows school-age sisters, Betty, Ann, and Pee Wee during one life-changing summer when the three of them head off to stay with their hoodoo-practicing aunt, Theodora, a powerful woman feared by the local townspeople. I love this book especially since I can relate to it. If you are interested in this type of lifestyle definitely read this book

💝 Love, Ancestors

I like how the children spent time with their Aunt who was different. Spending time with her opened the door for their gifts. The youngest of the three girls turned out to be the strongest. In the end I believe the ancestors were the ones that kept her there. She needed to be there, being in a new location with people she didn’t know would have made her and her gifts stand out. I do recommend this tale, or is it a tale?!?!??!!!

love the richness of the story

I love the story and even tho it was horror writers the natural fears is what got me.

Loved the Characters

I really enjoyed the characters and their experiences. Very well read, the inflection and tone of the characters was clear. I would love to see more on the lives of each.

Rich story

Rich, interwoven stories with excellent characters. Would love to listen to a follow up story!
