Resumen del Editor

No one said life was going to be easy, but mine just keeps getting harder.

My best friend has been abducted by a madman who seems to have returned from the dead with the sole goal of seeking revenge against me. She’s my friend, but she’s also essential in finding a cure for a virus that has the potential to destroy the supernatural world.

Did I mention there’s a war brewing between supernaturals and humans? My people, the Legacy, were responsible for the first supernatural war, and now I’m tasked with preventing the second.

Amazing Ending

This was an amazing ending to an amazing series. Of course I will miss Levy, Gareth, Savannah, and Lucas. Yet I couldn't have walked away anymore satisfied. This book was fast-paced, and the storylines were wrapped up nicely. This was the first series I started from McKenzie Hunter, but it won't be my last. I have found a new favorite author and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this series.

Absolutely great way to Finis!

I absolutely loved this book! I loved the whole series, I wish there was a way to continue it, but I don't know how, but if anybody can, its McKenzie! The whole premise of Legacy, is the use of magic, and the class system of magic users, so much so, that a group of powerful Legacy thought they could rule by force, to purge other "lesser" mages, etc. Its almost reminiscent of Nazi Germany in 1939. if they are not pure bred of magic, then they need to be cleansed. it is wrong on so many levels. I'm a soldier, an Army Ranger, I've fought a lot of wars and this is the mind set. It seems the Protagonist's parents and others tried to stop it, that is what we did when I was Special Forces. Now, Legacy can come out of the closet, so to speak, and make real changes. Just because you're born into something doesn't mean you have to embrace it, that's how you know and learn what right and wrong is! Overall she helped the town so many times. The use and type of magic was so impressive. please write more about Legacy's they are so enthralling, as most books written by McKenzie Hunter I have to go right back and read it again because I don't want to leave this world she has created yet. Thanks for the wonderful books. I am a writer now and I can only aspire to write stories like McKenzie.

love the universe

I really enjoy he universe of this series. As a male though its sadly becoming 50 shades of not interesting. also, the word sheathed has been ruined for me.

Glad to be done

Book 4 is another slog of repetitive fight scenes, same inner conflicts, new scary creatures, same comments on characters’ quirks. Could fast forward through a lot. Quick tidy wrap up at the end - yay.
Still excellent narrator.

One interesting spark to this book

This fourth installment of The Legacy series finds Levy caught between helping her best friend, Savannah, and helping the public fight a virus sent out by Connor. Yes, you read that right. Connor is back... Again 😩.

Prepare yourself for the many eye rolls and sighs of annoyment that are to come. A villian that is to be used in more than one installment must be powerful, cunning, intriguing, and scary as hell. Unfortunately, Connor only has power and I put an asterisk next to that one because he has been beaten down in 3 books already. As he doesn't even possess the other characteristics listed, he does not fit the bill for a Super Villian. His presence felt so overdone. Every time he came into a scene I was annoyed. And he pulls the same tricks he has done since book one. He is actually a terribly written bad guy. I surely hope this is his last book because I can't take anymore of his insignificance.

Then there is our lead heroin, Levy, herself. The author tries to force her into being this low key ,flannel wearing, comic book reading good ol' girl. Yet, it just doesnt fit. Levy constantly makes references to batman, the Marvel universe, and graphic novels in general. But it comes across so fake. Like a person trying to pretend they are into those things. Believe me, I see it a lot. Now that comics are cool, many try to pretend they are fans. That is how Levy comes across to me and I'm not even taking into account her childish banter and inability to take stuff seriously.

The love lives of Levy, Savannah, and Blue are just uninspired. There was no build up to make it stick. No intense draw and no emotional pull. Savannah just saw the Master Vampire and BAM they were an item. On a side note, Lucas is the worst Master Vampire I have ever read about in a novel. He has no sensuality, no sexuality, no powerful presence, and... whatever else you think a Master Vampire should have then he doesn't have that either. However, as readers we are supposed to believe he and Savannah have an unbreakeable bond forged from.... NOTHING. It's basically the same for the other two couples as well. Think about how love was built stine by stobe between Bella and Edward in the the Twilight series... now think about how Mercy and Adam went through hell and high water to realize they loved each other in the Mercy Thompson series. Now, if anything happens to those characters, you would feel the hurt or you as if it was you in the pages. But you don't have any of that here. They meet and they date. That's it.

There was one spark to this book that kept me from rating it a 1 Star and that was THE ISLAND. Now here was the opportunity for an awesome story. Levy and Garret visit a secluded island that is home to the purest forms of Supernatural. They encounter a mix of magical creatures that are masters in trickery. They come across a demi-goddess who doesn't want to let them leave and unintentionally strike a bargain with her. This was a good storyline but didn't get enough page time. I would have preferred a full story around these characters instead of another stale run at Connor. This small portion of the book was a saving grace for me. Curiosity about reading more about them is probably why I'll try out the next book.

My Blog Rating:

2 Stars 🌟🌟- Decent. Has Potential. Possibly a good idea for a story but something could have been better. Sometimes it's because the author put too little or too much into the wrong parts of the story. New authors sometimes fall in this ranking and move up as their series progresses. Doesn't mean I hated it. Just means it was missing something to push it over the hump.
