Resumen del Editor

A DJ becomes a hero. A doctor weathers a family tragedy. And a thin wall between them....

Radio DJ Derek Brown grew up in foster care. He’s built a decent life for himself, but when he’s called on to save a terrified young girl from traffickers he doesn’t hesitate to step in, even at the risk of his own life. The young rising star has become an overnight hero.

Alpha Alex Brennan is a trauma surgeon at Silver Oak Medical Center. When he checks on the patient he operated on the day before, he’s startled to find the “hero DJ” is his hated next-door neighbor.

Despite their shared animosity, Alex can’t ignore Derek’s heroism. When the rescued girl takes shelter with Derek to recover, Alex finds himself drawn to the young omega even further. Working with Derek and his guest dredges up old family tragedies for Alex, and not everyone in Alex’s family is thrilled about the new people in Alex’s life.

Can Alex and Derek forge their own path through family tragedy, and build a new and healthy family together? Or will their pasts keep them apart forever?

Enemies become lovers in this highly erotic gay mpreg tale. This 106,000-word audiobook is brimming with explicit man-on-man action, and is intended for adults only.

Good Story - not the best narrator

I enjoyed the story and liked the relationship building between former rival neighbors, but the narrator just didn't do it for me on this one.

Enjoyable addition

Derek notices something is wrong with a girl while he is working and steps forward to help. This leads to so many changes in his life. Alex realizes that the man being called a hero is the neighbor that has been annoying him for some time. As he battles with his family and his feelings, secrets are discovered. You will be drawn in and find yourself cheering for them.

Terrific Story!

This is a terrific story that had me on a rollercoaster of emotions. The story has many layers that pulled on my heartstrings. The characters are complex, at times hard to like. As we get to know the characters more behaviors become understandable. I laughed, cried, and so much more. I previously read this book prior to listening to the audio version. I had a hard time enjoying the story as an audio, the narrator didn’t click with me. At times he sounded mechanical and emotionless which pulled me out of the story. This is a really great story.

Nice read

I liked this story from Aiden Bates a lot! It had interesting main characters and a well thought out plot...with that said, I was not crazy about this nararator...his speech was extremely slow and over exaggerated. I think he does have potential and would be open to listening to another book in the future with his narration.

Feeling exhausted

I'm really enjoying this new world I have found of human alpha's and omegas. Aiden bates writes the best stories and weaves a wonderful world with challenges and new ideas being challenged by the characters within.

Give Me an MC with a Backbone!

This was a long story with multiple action sequences that tie in to Silver Oak Hospital. While it is in the Silver Oak Medical Center series, it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

The action scenes were very well written, and interesting with tension and expectation. There is a human trafficking ring, a clever DJ (MC #1), a very remarkable teenager, a hidden second family, and a brilliant surgeon (MC #2).

What I didn't like about the story was the brilliant surgeon, a man in his 30's and not living at home, caved in to his father's demands. He never stood up for himself, his mother or sisters, and certainly not for the man he supposedly loved. He had absolutely no backbone whatsoever. He only agreed to do the right thing after being coerced into it by the females of his family. Frustrating.

Narrator John Hong has an odd cadence to his reading that took some getting used to. He also pronounced some words differently, such as "awry" as "air-ree." Please listen to the sample.

Torn

On the one hand the storyline is interesting but the narrator is so monotonous and the reading so emotionless it's hard to stay engaged and it seems to drag on. The characters are hard to like and there doesn't seem to be any connection between the MCs. This might be better had I read it on my own.

Good story.

This is a good in the Silver Oak Medical Series. I like Derek and Alex's story. Even though I did want to shake Alex a few when he was be a ass. Now John Hong did an okay job for me. It could have been better but I still was ok to listen to it.

It’s ok

Even though it’s not my favorite book in this series, I did like the story. It is well written, interesting and has good character development. The only thing I didn’t like is Alex for most of the book. But it wasn’t so bad that I couldn’t enjoy the book as a whole, and he did get better at the end.
Although I quite like the narrators voice, I didn’t like his execution at all. I find his performance on this book somewhat robotic and unemotional. Also the sentences had a lot of unnatural pauses. I don’t know if that is just the way the narrator red the lines of if it is because of editing, but it made it difficult to enjoy the audiobook.

Absolutely Brilliant!

This is the fourth book of this series. So far each and every one had to do with social issues and how that was taken care of, this book is no different, except for the subject which is PREJUDICE , discrimination against gay persons who were allowed into the USA for asylum. This book is also about love of all kinds. The book plus the bonus chapter is about seven to eight hours in reading time, unless you are a slow reader and you stop reading for a reasonable time.
