This Alaska joyride takes us as far north as Barrow, Alaska (the most northern community on the North American Continent) to Homer, Alaska in the south and destinations in between.

As you ramble with us along these roads and share the Alaska experience from a dog's eye view, you will be enticed to make this trek on your own. I will be happy to join you as I never tire of neither the Alaska experience nor the roads that take me there.

A travelogue, a dog story, and so much more.

This book is so much more than just a read for dog lovers. It is a travelogue from Michigan to and around Alaska, told from the viewpoint of a beagle. Remington, who is prone to motion sickness, reluctantly embarks on this trip with his human family, but he soon knows he is on the adventure of a lifetime.

While this book is suitable for children, the author wrote it for adults, and she has brilliantly provided specific advice for travel throughout Alaska, complete with mile markers pointing to scenic spots, campgrounds, and areas of interest.

If you are planning a trip to Alaska, this is the perfect guide for you. It is full of accurate information and keen observations, as seen through the eyes of a funny, sharp-eyed beagle.

Even if you aren’t thinking about traveling north, though, I highly recommend reading (or listening to) Remington Beagle. Remington’s take on the world will make you smile and often laugh out loud.

Maybe it’s because a beagle is narrating the book, but I really enjoyed being an armchair traveler during the read!
