Very much worth the wait.

I am going to miss this series, but Diana Rowland does gift us with a very thoughtful and fulfilling end to this series. For those of us who have some trouble remembering all of the past events and characters, she includes a comprehensive recap as well as a glossary at the end.

Wrapping up the story nicely

Waited years for this one, definitely wraps everything up nicely. The story felt loose in some places, but it does good of wrapping every plot point up. As a fan of this series, 9/10

What a fantastic wrap to this series. I’d nearly given up on it ever being finished.

Wonderful finale

I've been waiting a long time for this book. Thank you Diana Rowland for finishing this wonderful series with a rich and satisfying ending. Loved it so much!

So sad it's over!

I have loved the whole series, but the last book is by far the greatest! More battles, more comradery, more growth in so many supporting characters..and ALL the feels..laughter, joy, sorrow, and a few too many tears. I am just sad I won't get to visit this world in new stories. But I will always have them on my bookshelf for re-visiting this one, as well as all the others on the series.

Well worth the wait

What a epic ending to an epic series. It felt like I waited forever for this last book, but it did not disappoint. Every loose end and plot point was tied up in a cohesive manner that left me truly satisfied and pleased.

Long time coming, but well worth the wait.

Now this is how a finale should be. Not a haphazard & forced "let's tie up all the loose ends". But a true storyline that continues the series and nicely and naturally answered all the questions; we readers, who have so diligently followed the series want the answers to regarding our beloved characters. It was the total trifecta, it had mystery/suspense, action/adventure and romance. In other words I left the table well satisfied. Which is especially good since it's the end of the series.

Limped over the finish line with rewritten rules

I most enjoyed the first four books, when the focus was more on UF police procedurals.
Books 5-9 pivoted into fantasy and a demon invasion arc … that branched out in a dozen directions.
It felt like the author had a brainstorm (squirrel!) after publishing the first few books, and then proceeded to publish the new books before she storyboarded the complete arc. Thus, her plots got more and more fantastical, and non-sensical, and she needed to invent new characters, species, and magic abilities in order to give an HEA.

Even with the 17 minute series recap at the beginning, and Chapter 46’s info dump explaining the entire millennia long plot, I still feel like the crux of the story was “pew, pew, magic, magic, stabby, stabby,
Kara wins (pay no attention to the author behind the curtain)” smoke and mirrors.
In other words: I got lost among the magical special effects.
