Lucas Davenport and Virgil Flowers are up against a powerful vigilante group with an eye on vengeance in this thrilling novel in the beloved series by the #1 New York Times bestselling author.
“We’re going to murder people who need to be murdered.”
So begins a press release from a mysterious group known only as “The Five,” shortly after a vicious predator is murdered in San Francisco. The Five is made up of vigilante killers who are very bored…and very rich. They target the worst of society—rapists, murderers, and thieves—and then use their unlimited resources to offset the damage done by those who they’ve killed, donating untraceable Bitcoin to charities and victims via the dark net. The Five soon become popular figures in the media …though their motives may not be entirely pure.
After The Five strike again in the Twin Cities, Virgil Flowers and Lucas Davenport are sent in to investigate. And they soon have their hands full--the killings are smart and carefully choreographed, and with no apparent direct connection to the victims, the killers are virtually untraceable. But if anyone can destroy this group, it will be the dynamic team of Davenport and Flowers.

Reseñas de la Crítica
"[Righteous Prey is] well-paced from the start, and ramps up the tension (and the body count) as the lawmen draw closer to their prey." (Wall Street Journal)
"The book’s strength rests firmly on the rapport between Davenport and Flowers: their pithy dialogue is spiced with the kind of humor that enduring friendships engender. Sandford fans will hope they have a long run as a team. (Publishers Weekly)

There’s a message here…

The main plot centers around a group calling themselves "The Five" who decide it is their job to rid the world of those they term as "A...holes". When they kill their prey, a number is placed on them indicating the order of the kill. Then the organizer of the group sends out a press release proclaiming who the victim is, why they were killed, and where the bodies may be found. Lucas Davenport is called in to assist the FBI with the hunt for these killers and he is joined, once again, by his former employee Virgil Flowers. This is the second time Sandford has put the duo together for a complete novel and it is pure genious.
Flowers has always been a favorite of mine, but there has not been a novel exclusively his in awhile. Maybe the sales were not up to par. Whatever the reason, he is very welcome as a partner for Lucas IMO. On top of Flowers, we get a very brief inclusion by Kidd, another Sandford character who has not had his own novel in years. Absolute joy.
Suffice it to say, the story, characters and action are all first rate and the dramatic conclusion is like watching the gunfight at the ok corral all over again. Just excellent. Thank you Mr. Sandford and Ferrone for a great ride. I truly hated to see it end.

He always adds a minor tolerable amount of anti-Trump or crazy Republican type comments though.
Too much naïveté about the second amendment (bump stock bad, ghost gun bad, you can buy a rocket launcher if you want to, blah, blah)
A hunter or sportsman doesn’t “need” these things is the classic liberal line. Most libs miss the point that the 2nd is to protect the citizen from its own government and that restrictions only effect the law abiding (criminals are already and definitionally well known not to follow the law)
Pardon the rant and buy the book. I’d still buy it again even after listening but think we all need to speak up rather than just roll our eyes
Maybe Mr S will see this review and tone down the unneeded opinions
before alienating his readers
Thx for reading
