I’m still waiting for the ending?

When the book stopped, i felt like it was in the middle of a conversation, I thought Audible must have skipped over the final chapter. Nope.

Up until this point I was involved and invested in the story. Will they get a conviction? I hope a future book resolves this.

Disappointing

Eleven hours long but the book ended without the story ending. I have read every book in the Prey series and never before have I been disappointed. Is there a sequel? If so, that’s a departure from the rubric where each book can be read as a standalone. Too bad because the story was fantastic.

Cliffhanger

I love when Virgil Flowers and Lucas Davenport are teamed up. I was into the story and fully engaged then…. The story just ends and not at a logical point. This is not typical for Sandford and maybe he is running out of ideas after so many great books. I’m hoping he gets it back on track with the next release.

Cliffhanger?

Unlike many of the reviewers, I was pleasantly surprised by the ending. It’s clear that the author has already plotted out the sequel, and I suspect it will be quite a ride. It does demand some patience for the readers. I also enjoyed the scattered jokes that the author directs at himself.

Kept me in the dark about what was next

The new narrator is different in style from the narrator who read the previous books. Sometimes hard to get used to.
Loved that the plot was different than the other stories but just as suspenseful.

Love the new reader!

I was worried I wouldn’t enjoy the book as much since it wasn’t read by Richard Ferrone like almost all of the other Prey books. But the new guy is great. And I love the story. John Sanford’s female villains are the best!

Lucid and Virgil

Awesome team and good story. I would love to read more like this. Getting used to the narrator, although I miss Richard Farone. The new narrator is very good. Keep the Lucas and Virgil team together. They’re a good story group.

Good story, but...

All I can say is the ending/non ending was very disappointing. More than that, it stunk.Perhaps there will be a sequel, perhaps not, but this was a lousey way to treat the reader.I expect more from Sandford. .

Not The Ending I Expected

Had me going from beginning to end, as usual - however, I didn't expect to land in a cliffhanger. I'm hoping, for some unexpected reason, there will be a sequeal that gets us pass the 40% possibility of a verdict or not. Maybe a few more murders pop up? .... I was completely into the entire story line. The performance was awesome. Question - am I left to draw my own conclusion or will there be a sequel?

I love the Prey series and was so happy to see this new book! Nonstop excitement and you get both Lucas and Virgil Flowers!!
