I hated almost all of this trilogy.

Maybe my dislike of this series is exacerbated by my love for Hobb's Elderlings series. Either way, I was extremely disappointed. By the time it started to get good, the last book was over. However, I would be willing to give Soldier's Boy another chance if Hobb were to revisit this series.

Waaaaaay Too Long!

What did you like best about Renegade's Magic? What did you like least?

The core story of this series is good, but it could have been told in a single novel. As a trilogy, it was filled with words and thoughts that were repetitive and did nothing to advance the plot. It became VERY tedious.

If you’ve listened to books by Robin Hobb before, how does this one compare?

This book and series is my least favorite of Robin Hobb's works. In fact, I believe that had I not read it last, or enjoyed her other works so much, I may have liked this series better. In my opinion, it simply did not measure up.

Would you listen to another book narrated by John Keating?

Yes, the narration was the best part of this particular series.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes. In fact, I think a movie version of the series would do better justice to the core of the story than the books, which were repetitive and filled with words that did nothing to advance the plot. A movie would cut through all that. One movie could easily cover the entire trilogy and do a better job telling the story.

Took along time to get there

Over all I enjoyed the trilogy of books and even in some ways how the story was dragged out. The dilemma that the main Character faced Was overwhelming at times and How to resolve The situation was Not something that could just be Thrown together but But had to be developed in a way That would be convincing to the reader.
I have always enjoyed Robin Hobb's writing and story telling and John Keating is an excellent narrator with a good range of Character voices.

Great book! A twist I never saw coming! What a way to end the trilogy.
