Book 2 was very intense and the storyline was strong. Remy and Ian story is very intriguing. A.C. Katt gave the characters something different to stand on. Joel Leslie is an awesome narrator and brings the series to life.

I love paranormal romance books, and this series is fantastic! I am looking forward to more books by A. C. Katy because they have just the right balance of romance and action, without a lot of unnecessary angst from the main character’s to drag away from the main plot!

Review of Remy’s Painter

I loved that Ian didn't just fall into Remy's lap. Remy had to learn to tone down his growl. This couple is one of my favorites. As always the narrator brought it to life.

the main problem with this book is that it can't be put down - it is captivating in the extreme - book one was good and this one was just amazing - can you tell I love it? Of course the narration was as amazing as the story - on to # 3

amazing

I'm loving this series. Remy and Ian are great together. This story has some sad moments. There's drama that kept me entertained. Joel Leslie has such a sexy voice. I can't wait to start the next story.

Would you listen to Remy's Painter again? Why?

I would, and likely will. There are elements of this series, these shifters, that are very unique and intriguing. It helps that the narrator is one of my favorites.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ian, hands down. He wants so badly to be loved, but when Remy offers him his love, no questions and no strings it kind of terrifies Ian. It was a revelation to listen as Ian went from scared and unsure to more confident and mature with Remy's unconditional love.

What does Joel Leslie bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He brings the many, various characters to life. Seriously, there are several characters with a French accent, but you will never be confused as to which particular person is talking or thinking at any given moment.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I'm going with a slightly funny moment. Breakfast after Armand and Sean arrived. It was a testament to relationship being built between these two couples that the two Alpha males could be put in their place by their mates. That their mates weren't afraid to speak their mind. This part of the story made me smile and kind of solidified the relationships that much more for me.

Any additional comments?

Okay, I just have to say that there is one thing about this book, this series, that drives me up the wall... WHY are the females always referred to as "Bitch" or "Alpha Bitch"?!?!?!! This could very easily be a five star story for me but hearing the females called by this moniker over and over, and the Alphas say it like the woman should feel proud to be "Bitches". NO, don't like this, wish it would stop.

That being said, I pretty much enjoyed everything else about the story. You get to learn more about the loup garou in this story, their history and why things are done certain ways and I was intrigued by the ins and outs of their pack(s) and the hierarchy of their race. Remy was a seventy year old virgin, feeling like he needed to save that part of himself for his mate. This made Remy a bit of a bear to be around most of the time. Enter Ian. He's been through so much in his young life but one thing he's not is a pushover. He stands up to Remy, doesn't put up with the attitude, growling and occasional bad attitude from his mate. He doesn't give a flip if he's an alpha.

The treat in this story was written almost as an after thought, secondary, but still very real. The fact that Katt didn't delve too deep or spend a lot of time trying to flesh out the bad guy made him that much more threatening in my mind and I liked that a lot.

Narrated by Joel Leslie and I seriously have to ask, is there anything this man can't do? The level of emotion and variance of voices, tones and nuances at his disposal continue to impress me with every new book I listen to.

If you enjoy a good shifter story with a little something different to give it an edge, you should consider this series.

Love doesn't always come easy

Ian lost his father and brother to a gambling debt with a mob boss. Now he is doing his best to make the money needed to keep him from being essentially a slave for that same mob boss by continuing his father’s painting business.

Remy is the second most powerful werewolf in North America and finds his mate in the house painter whose come to do his newly purchased houses.

Remy is afraid to tell Ian his truths and Ian is afraid to trust someone so obviously out of his normal circle.

Eventually they must band together for Ian’s protection and slowly grow to love one another. They keep things chaste until Remy tells Ian of his true nature and claims him as his Mate.

**

I really liked the slow burn of this novel. The author does a lot to make the whole “insta-love” more palatable and sincere.

I liked the characters and found the story interesting. I wish there were more about being a werewolf in this story, however. Besides the rules and the mating bite there is nothing about being a werewolf in this story at all.

My main problem was the writing itself. It’s rather stiff and awkward, there are some grammatical mistakes and the dialog isn’t very believable. Everyone is entirely too self aware and they spend way too much time dissecting their feelings. There is a lot of telling and not much showing.

I think the creativity and storylines are great and with some improved editing future works could be outstanding.

Joel makes this series a “must have” for me! I love his French accents and his ability to make each and every (and there are a LOT of them!) characters stand out on their own. He’s good at giving the emotional scenes their due without making it feel too much like a soap opera.

Highly recommended for fans of the series!

This was a light, endearing and funny read. The Shifter world building is off the beaten track [no mpeg] and nicely done. The characters are well formed and distinctly unique. Joel Leslie as always does an outstanding job at the narration with different accents and intonations.
