Resumen del Editor

Popular national radio host Julie Roys rejects both fundamentalist caricature and feminist distortion to reveal God's amazingly relevant and compelling vision for women, showing them how to redeem their feminine souls and become all God designed them to be.

Christian women today feel torn between the demands of motherhood, career, and ministry - and by a church that gives them conflicting ideas of what it means to be a woman.

In Redeeming the Feminine Soul: God's Surprising Vision for Womanhood, popular national radio host Julie Roys reveals the stunning truth that no one else is talking about: Women are destroying themselves. Internalizing society's devaluation of the feminine, some women are killing their own natural impulses to pursue a feminist ideal that bears no relation to God's good design. Other women struggle to conform to a fundamentalist feminine caricature that requires denying their full humanity and gifting.

Defying both feminists and fundamentalists, Julie Roys reveals God's true, affirming, and compelling vision for women, showing them how to reclaim what is uniquely feminine and become healthy, balanced women of God.

Extremely insightful. Men should read it too.

All Christians should read or listen to this, in my opinion. So many problems in our families and churches could be improved greatly or totally eradicated if we all grasped these concepts completely. I learned a lot and it was refreshing to hear some of what I believed all along to be explained so much better than before and confirmed to me. Thank you for sharing your deeply personal experiences and your soul for us, Julie. This book is such a blessing, and helps me have much more compassion for anyone struggling with identity.

Thorough and intelligent based on Biblical truth.

This book expressed eloquently what bothers me as a christian regarding LGBTQ movement, sexism and church attitudes towards women. It definitely offered hope and affirmed my worth.

#soProfound

This book has made me think. Truly. I’ll disagree, then I’ll agree. I’ll balk at a statement, then I’ll go back and re-think it. I’ve listened to the audio book twice in the past few days. I hope that Julie Roys writes a follow-up book! That book would be just as refreshing as this book.

Thoroughly Disappointed

I was looking forward to this book by Julie Roys because I have listened to her radio show on occasion and have appreciated her contemporary Christian perspective on the various subjects she covered. She didn't seem to acquiesce to norms, religious, social or political. So I was expecting this book to be of the same vein. However, in Redeeming the Feminine Soul there was no surprising vision for womanhood it was just newer, updated fodder for "a woman's place is in the home."

God did design man and woman in His image and I agree that each gender does reflect a part of the essence of God. But I don't agree that a woman's inherited essence is solely or even primarily to bear and nature children. God has created women to be capable of many, many things and the desire to do or accomplish things that aren't necessarily "womanly" has no bearing on a woman trying to be masculine or even less feminine, such a woman may just want to -- be. I have zero desire to fight on the front lines in the army and frankly can't understand why anyone would want to but I certainly wouldn't make the assumption that any woman who does is in someway betraying her femininity.

Finally, a radio program host does not a narrator make. She spoke fast and rarely paused for effect or otherwise and there wasn't much variation in the delivery regardless of what she was touching on. Throughout this audiobook I had this vision of Julie Roys standing in front of a classroom reading 100 page research report. That's how it came across to me.
