Resumen del Editor

Ten-year-old Sevilla Ray has a secret: whenever she gets really scared by some larger-than-life menace, such as a not-so-dead Ghost Moth or the Angry Woman of Kits Beach, she shrinks to 18 inches tall. When one day she shrinks and rides off on her Irish Setter, Raven, her life will never be the same. It’s bad enough that her friends think she is involved in black magic, but she is not the only one with magic.

The unthinkable has happened: Her magic has followed her back to her safe mountain town. She discovers a menacing clan of canyon-dwelling children - and the witch who is hunting them. Before she can learn to control either her mount or her magic, the witch lures her away from her family, her friends, and her dogs. With only Raven to help her Sevilla Ray must resist the witch to save the Feral Children, and herself.

Raven Bramblebutt and the Feral Children is book one of the Raven Bramblebutt series of audiobooks for children.

Let award-winning actress Meg Roe take you through cliff-hangers and joyful discoveries, as Sevilla Ray hunts down her own answer to the question: "If magic lay in your heart, what would be your place in the world?" For the preteen inside us all, the one we wish we still were.

We loved this story!

Where does Raven Bramblebutt and the Feral Children rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Right at the very top. The narrator does a fantastic job as storyteller of a well written, imaginative fairy tale. We loved the comparisons of the Canadian city of Vancouver to the picturesque american town of Leavenworth and the two very distinct life styles that each location offers.

What does Meg Roe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

We loved the description of the characters; both human and canine! They come alive during the narration of this audio book. Meg Roe`s expressive storytelling technique is never tiring and inspires the listener to use their imagination. The story is most enjoyable being listened to in a quiet room with closed eyes to better imagine Sevilla Rae and Mary Bruce as Sevilla Rae attempts to induce her friend to love the city of Vancouver and introduces her to all of the wonders of the `big city`.

My son loved this audiobook!

Would you consider the audio edition of Raven Bramblebutt and the Feral Children to be better than the print version?

The reading by well-known actress, Meg Roe, is sublime! We loved all the different voices for the characters, and had to keep listening to find out what was going to happen to Sevilla Ray and her dog, and to the wicked witch, aka the Mean Librarian.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Raven Bramblebutt and the Feral Children?

We loved it when Sevilla Ray met the Feral Children for the first time.

Which character – as performed by Meg Roe – was your favorite?

The Mean Librarian, of course, because she has a British accent, and sounds so intimidating!

Any additional comments?

I would say it's suitable for children of all ages, but particularly 8-12. Great to listen to in the car, and parents will be into it too.
