Excellent

This novel by Danielle Steel represents a significant departure from her typical writing style, offering a unique and captivating narrative that thoroughly engaged me throughout the entire reading experience. The book's distinctive approach and compelling storytelling kept me enthralled from beginning to end, providing a refreshing and unexpected literary journey that diverges from the author's more conventional works.

Ransom Almost 5 stars!

95% of this was great, I held back on 5 stars due to the language. This story line could have been just as effective without the language. No one needs to F bomb at all and I was surprised actually because it directly affects the integrity of the writer and the story. The characters were strong and it was somewhat suspenseful. Without being a spoiler the outcome was good. The last few chapters were the meat of the story, so much so that I had to carve out time to finish the last 30 minutes without having to wait until days end to know how it all comes together.

Typical Danielle Steel, easy listening, but so unrealistic! If you don’t have the money to feed your children what are you doing buying two dozen longstem red roses? What are you doing going out for pizza if you can’t afford to put groceries in your cupboard? What are you doing paying to send your kids to private school if you can’t afford to buy them clothes or shoes? A lot of extravagance -very unrealistic! I live on Social Security and wouldn’t consider for a moment wasting money on flowers or pizza out! Audible is my only extravagant!

This book is entirely too gripping!

This book is so twisted and what you would expect to happen next is not what happens next a lot of the time. Keeps you thinking and wondering what happens next and there's a lot of "I didn't see that coming" or "That's not what I was expecting" but it hooks you still and leaves you sitting at the edge of your seat at times waiting for the narrator to get to it. Couldn't put the phone down and got irritated with people calling while I was listening to it interrupting the Audibles and taking me away from this read.

Decent storyline

It took a while to introduce all the characters. It would have been nice if Peter had lived or at least they knew he was protecting his own kids by doing it. Peter could have barricaded the bedroom door and the group could have come in under the cloak of darkness. Who waits until daylight? And the three were drink. Better time to hit. Could have been a little better thought out.

Interesting plot. Moves along smoothly. One can feel the frustration of this woman whose husband has put her in such a precarious position.
