Truly an eye-opener!

This audiobook is an eye-opener. It has made me aware of the great effects of manipulation. I have learned many strategies used by great manipulators in this book. Now I know how they influence people by transmitting the right message through their body language and by using powerful nonverbal communication. This subtle art of persuasion is so subtle and often covert if done well. However, knowing this information as well as many more we can apparently get just by observing mannerisms and non-verbal cues, this book also dealt with the ethical use of these techniques for those who don’t want to be the bad guy. Is there really an ethical way of doing it? This book has the truth that will help you find your own answers.

Some important things I learned

The incredible impact of controlling this audiobook has opened my eyes. Manipulation is the conscious act of causing someone to do a certain thing or act in a certain way. Manipulation is clever, skillful, and sometimes unscrupulous. Manipulation is not always a bad thing.

Raises people’s awareness

Overall, it's a good audiobook to raise people's awareness about the topic. What I have learned from this book is that facial expression plays an important role for us because this is where we show what we feel like fear, happiness and surprise or even anger as well. Also, the tone and pitch of our voice play an important role too. Since I know quite some manipulative people who abuse their relationships emotionally (not my spouse, thank goodness), and having been hurt by the damage they’ve inflicted on some close family members, I can always appreciate a book I can somewhat relate to. This is one of those audiobooks.

Tons of great points

The audiobook has great points. It has given me the certainty to begin my adventure in achieving my objectives and persuading others that my choices matter. It was nice to listen to how those techniques were used by real people in real life. I think that made the audiobook priceless.
