The Chance at Forever

A great love story. For Sabrina love wasn't easy, being cheated on my a high school boyfriend she has trust issues. The characters are relatable and the narrator brings this story and characters to life.

Hooked from page one!!!

Loved Sabrina and Tyler's story!
Sabrina has a tormented past and it has taken a long time to finally face her demons. However, there was someone there in her shadow to make sure she was alright, and it's the thought of that person who makes it hard for her to have a relationship with someone who is not him. When her very hot boss, Alex lets her know he's interested, she just can't seem to forget about the man she thought of as her guardian angel. Then, the time comes for her to face her past - her 10 year high school reunion. Sabrina makes it through tough as nails and finally puts people in their places. Then she sees him...... Tyler, the man who consumes her dreams!
Tyler was known as the town's bad boy, always getting into trouble, but the night Sabrina's heart is crushed, he is the one that takes care of her. At that point, he knows the timing isn't right for their chance. Fast forward ten years and he is there to claim what's his! As Sabrina and Tyler embark on their own little reunion, their bond and passion ignites and both are left with their hearts forever connected.
However, Tyler is one hell of a sexy man and his past encounters can't seem to let him go, causing big problems, where hearts are broken and trust is shattered. After the truth comes to light, Tyler is determined and not giving up. He knows Sabrina is the only one for him and even though he broke her heart he is willing to do anything in his power to fight for her. With a little help from Sabrina's friends, they make her see that her love with Tyler is not something to toss away.
Sabrina and Tyler's story will make you laugh, cry, and fill your heart. I would love to see a follow up book for them!

I loved this book sooooo much I couldn’t put it down!

I would recommend this book to any one looking for a GOOD romantic novel. The story line was amazing. The exotic scenes came to life. It made me cry, laugh and mad like no other book. I siriously got lost in it for hours till the end.

A Diamond in the Ruff!

Would you consider the audio edition of Promise Me to be better than the print version?

Kate Rudd does a fantastic job narrating this book. I only listened to the audio version and found it to be rather satisfying!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I enjoyed all the characters but I gotta say..I love Sabrina's BFF Julie, and Alex as well!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! I love this type of book as well as the dilemma between the two main characters! Barbie has a great talent for storytelling and I look forward to reading more from this author! She will now be on my auto purchase list!
Many romance novels are rather...cheesy because of male leads that are too perfect as well as the storyline that lacks. This story is a perfect 5 star and I've only given Diana Gabaldon, Jamie McGuire, and SC Stephens 5 stars!!

what a sweet story

This is the book romance novels are made of. It is (my opinion) about soulmates being together and one has to forgive the other. Hands down, kept me entertained.

Ok I first have to say is that I love Kate Rudd, she’s the narrator on this book, and her voice is just perfect. I’ve listened to her a few times, and her voice was the perfect voice for the characters she played in Promise Me.

Promise Me was about heartbreak,new kindled love. Barbie delivered every emotion to this book. I even laughed a ton i- with the help of the voice from the narrator you felt everything.

Lets start with the Prologue- WOW- caught my attention right away. Sabrina a young high school girl finds her boyfriend and her best friend hooking up. That’s when she meets Tyler Anderson. The Bad boy. He finds her while she watches her boyfriend cheat, and comforts her in a way her own boyfriend couldn’t comfort her. He makes her make a promise that she would leave the both of them and move on…. That was 10 years ago!

Fast Forward……Sabrina Chandler- 28 year old who lives in Miami with her crazy protective BFF Julia. First…. her roommate is to die for, she is hysterical, and she is totally what a Best friend should act like. Anyways…. Sabrina and Julia are in Miami, Sabrina works for a art museum. Sabrina gets mail asking her to come back to there hometown for a high school reunion.

After facing the ex-boyfriend and now the ex best friend , ohh yeah forgot to mention they got married with 2.5 kids! Ok, so she faces the challenges with them but really the only reason why she came back was to see Tyler. Ok.. Tyler was all sorts of good stuff. He’s restaurant owner, good looking and tatted. Nice right? Well… She see’s him at the reunion, and its almost like they never left each other. I loved how Sabrina grew with the story and never put up with Tyler’s bull crap. She gave him a run for his money, and in the end you fell in love with both characters. Since this is an audio review- I’m telling you will love it. With a set of earphones on and laughing out loud to the story, I fell in love with Barbies writing. And guess what!!! There is going to be a book #2 in the Finding Forever series. Thats right its Julia’s story!!! Ga…. I’m soooo excited to here what happens with Julia and Alex- ohh yea Alex, forgot mention him. Alex is Sabrina’s boss in Miami… The one who wanted to hook with her…but in the end we like Alex!!! If your not into audio, than pick up this book quick great read/ great audio/ great author.!!!!

Every time I hear or see you cry it kills me just a little bit more because I know it’s me who’s to blame for it. I know I’ll never be good enough for you… I knew it back then, and I f***ing know it for sure now. I know I don’t have any right to ask, but if you give me another chance, I swear I will spend the rest of my life trying to put that beautiful smile back on your face. Because what I came here to tell you is that I need you… I need you like I need the f***ing air to breathe.”

“Because wherever you are, is where I want to be. You can take all the time you need to think, but I’m not giving up. You and I… we belong together and I’ll wait for however long it takes because I love you.”

“No, you don’t get it at all. I wish you would have told me sooner because I miss you like crazy and I’m dying to see your beautiful face again. Don’t get any crazy ideas in that pretty little head of yours, I told you I’d wait and I’ve been doing nothing but waiting… and I’ll wait even longer if you needed me to.”

A book to keep

Another keeper, I really enjoyed the plot and would recommend getting the book, the narration was o.k. and I would listen to it again,

The Narrator is Wonderful

Kate Rudd is a fantastic narrator and actually "made" this listen for me. There were times when I wasn't happy where the book was going, but I persevered because Ms. Rudd was so enjoyable to listen to and is actually part of the reason I bought the book. As far as the story, it was good but does involve the dreaded cheating thing that lots of people have problems with, so that's just a heads up. I did enjoy all of the characters, even if at least four of them needed a swift kick in the pants! So yes, four stars!
