Light & fun--but frustrating at times

I picked this book because it 1) it was narrated by Kate Rudd & 2) because it seemed like a sweet romance. It was romantic at times, funny at other times, and quite frustrating at others​. Overall I really enjoyed it though. I recommend it if your in need of something sweet, steamy and fun.

Narration is perfect. Story makes me feel like I'm watching at Tom hanks & meg Ryan romance. Great sex scenes,realistic cursing, heartwarming, witty, funny.

I was able to listen to this via kindle unlimited but I liked it so much I want to buy it.

I absolutely adored this book. I love the personalities of the characters, especially Julia and Alex. Kate Rudd did a great job really bringing out their personalities. I really enjoy listening to Kate Rudd.

Love to Argue

What a great story, made me laugh, hurt and sigh in the end. Can friends become more, learn to trust again especially your own judgement. This is my second time listening and just loved it.

Just Perfect!

Kate Rudd's performance was icing on the cake. The book overall was funny and carried well by Julia as told in her point of view. Albeit the story is a little cliche but it was overall funny and sweet. Kate's performance just brought the story to another dimension. I chuckled, laughed, teared up a little, and had "oh no!" moments. To me an audiobook is just perfect when it grips me enough that I don't want it to end. I've passed this book on several times as I thought from the cover that it was YA and wouldn't be interested. I'm glad I finally listened to it because I was trying out the kindle unlimited for a month. Suffice it to say, I will invest and purchase this book so I can have it in my library.

I really liked Julia and Alex they were cute together. A little drama but not too much what a cute sweet listen.

Funny story!

Incredibly funny writer! I actually laughed out loud many times which is embarrassing when listening to an audiobook. The woman who narrated did a wonderful job. Her timing and inflection was spectacular and made all the difference. I'm so glad I listened to her narration rather than reading it myself.

Where does Playing It Safe rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I can't do rankings, but it was a very good listen.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ughhh so hard to choose one but I guess I would say Lisette (?-spelling), she is Julia's assistant and so dang funny. She is so outspoken and direct, LUV her. I also loved Julia's character. And Alex and Sarah and Sabrina and Julia's parents....okay, I like everyone in the book.

Have you listened to any of Kate Rudd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I have an obsession with her voice. She was stellar as usual.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, the moment Alex opened up about his relationship with Katerina.
