Great start to a new series

This listen was awesome and a great start to the new series! I enjoyed the new characters and loved seeing the ones from other series.

Wonderful new book!!

I loved Prince of LA. Garret and and Thane have been my favorite couple since I read the first book in the Death and Destruction series but Leo and Max might be my new favorite couple. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Enjoy the Audio version best

I am adding to an earlier review from the first time that I read this book. I originally read this as an ebook and it was one of the first books I read for review. I had only been reading MM romance books for a few months and was discovering what I liked and didn't like. My earlier review was fair and the book does have those issues but after listening to the audiobooks narrated by Michael Dean, the book (and series) have become a favorite. The narration brings the characters to a different level or feeling real. It make the reading experience different and helped me appreciate the characters and the mystery. I did increase my rating from the original 3 stars up to 4 stars, because there are still a few things that are a bit overlong and annoying to me. But, that could rally be a "me" issue.

Old Review---
Overall, "Prince of LA" is a good book, but it felt overlong and really quick at the same time. A large majority of the book was each character talking about how attractive he thought the other was from looks, clothing, smell and smile. Also, them fighting their arousal and how it was a bad idea. This is repeated over and over and over until it was boring. The quick part is how fast the relationship and since this is a continuing series is a HFN rather than a HEA and the next book picks up right where this one ends (based on the sneak peek chapter.) The mystery part had promise but felt a bit rushed and hopefully the next books develop it more if there is a continuation. "Prince of LA" is also the beginning of a series spun-off from from previous series by the author so there are spoilers from those books and a lot of backstory added on to those previous characters and events.

Great New Series

I really enjoyed this start to this new series. Max and Leo look like they will be another couple that's great together at work and away from work. With the narration from Michael Dean added to this story, I can't help but to look forward to more.

Another Five Star Listen!

Patricia Logan is one of my top favorite romance mystery/action/suspense writer. There’s just something about her storytelling that hooks me. It might be due to the fact that the subject matter dealt in this book is seriously dark, disturbing and heartbreaking, but somehow, she manages to balance it out by writing her characters in an endearing way. She sprinkles humor, sass, action and steam along the way.

Prince of LA is another series starter which features a law enforcement officer, this time an FBI Profiler, Leo, who joins Snow’s team. I love seeing cameos of the chacters I’ve read so much about, I consider them my friends too.

With that being said, I’d recommend going back to read the Death and Destruction series so you’ll see friends instead of random strangers, who are close to Snow’s team, when reading this book.

I love meeting Leo and lowkey jealous that he gets to be part of the gang now, and I can’t wait for more!

Nobody else can narrate this better than Michael Dean. I said what I said. Five stars and more.

📖 Story comment: Good pace, likeable characters, interesting story.
I"m not sure the opening chapter of this book fit - anyone familiar with Logan's other series will be familiar with LA PD Detective Cassidy Ryan who is the opening character ... I had to come back and check the blurb to see who the 2 Main characters were going to be - with the opening chapter I was expecting it to be a Cassidy book. Aside from that, I enjoyed the premise, although i'm not a fan if working partners jumping into bed so quickly, and I didn't really feel a connection to the characters like I have with other titles, I'll give the series a chance though, because It's kept me entertained and that's all I really need.

🎧 Narrator comment: I enjoy Michael Dean as a narrator, he has good cadence, inflections and intonations, he has a good variety of character voices, there is consistency of Characters from Logan's other series books he's performed and it was easy to get lost in the story. Overall an enjoyable performance.

Oh Boy!

After listening to police drama after police drama, I figured it would be another cheesy drama. Boy, was I surprised. Great characters and plot. just enough sexy times to make it a romance. could have used a slower burn. The insta-love in this story seemed to be missing something. Still worth a credit. Can hardly wait for book two.

Surprising

I have to say I am completely surprised by how good this story was. It had everything and was tied in very well. Would have liked for the mc’s to have had a little more conflict before getting together but then I like all the bumps in road before getting to your end destination. Besides that I loved their banter and fun and so much action. I have to admit that I loved Flynn character and would love to see his story. 😉

overall the story was ok but not a very good book to listen to if you're not paying full attention to it because it often switches point of view without any real warning

Romantic suspense and old friends

I was in the middle of the e-book and jumped to Audible as soon as it released. Michael Dean has, as always, really brought these characters to life. I'm thrilled that Patrica has started a new FBI series and gone back to our old friends from Death and Destruction. This series brings in new additions to the FBI team but we still have all our original cast of characters plus Jarret and Thayne and their ATF team are still involved!!! And with Patricia using Michael Dean again, the voices are all very comfortingly familiar. Max Priest and Leo Reeves are the smoking hot new couple this series is being built on. This is not a cliffhanger, more of a HFN, but these two are just starting a relationship. Can't wait to watch it develop. I would highly recommend the Death and Destruction series first though so you don't need a cheat sheet to keep track of all of the characters who return in this new series,.
