The narrator should be changed

My disappointment that this same high pitched voiced woman has narrated the next two books in this series. Do these authors not know these people need diction lessons to LOWER THAT REGISTER?

Loved previous books

I can’t tell if it is the new narrator or the book, but it is lacking something I loved when I started the series. I have no desire to listen to high pitched voices, and I think the way the boom was read made the characters sound like simpletons. I managed through the other books she read but won’t likely get another one with the same narrator

Loved it, except for...

I loved this book just as much as I have loved all her other books. However the choice of the voice for Mac continually grated on my nerves and kept making me feel like I needed to clear my throat.

Great twist near the end of the book

I enjoyed the story; the unexpected twist near the end made it difficult to deduce who the killer was until the end. The characters are well developed and the mystery unfolds in a way to keep you interested and wanting to hear more. What I found less than the desirable was the narration. Jae Delane's voice sounds somewhat like a young girl, not a mature and confident contractor with a successful construction company. Also she has trouble with male voices, Mac sounds as if he has laryngitis. Angela Starling is a much better narrator.

Premeditated Mortar

I truly enjoyed this book. It is nice to know the characters in a book series. It makes you feel as though you are there. I got into audio books because of cataracts but I enjoy the format so much I still use it even though my eyes are fixed.
